Paul is the only one who can stop this ticket rip-off

But these are resale tickets, right? Like Jock said, if purchased during the pre-sale or regular sale, they would be £45-140.
I haven’t purchased a “regular” seat since 2002 and at the time they were close to $300 each then, including service charges. They were floor seats in the 2nd section back, towards the front of the section. Believe it or not, my ex-husband actually bought the tickets for my birthday and he went with me! I bought us tickets for Bruce Springsteen for his birthday and we went together! (very amicable divorce! Lol!)

I can’t honestly answer that question as I have only just looked as I was away for presale. Perhaps someone else can. When I saw him in 2003 the same tickets were £150. I’ve never been lucky enough to get VIP/sound check tickets as they have been way out of my league .
the best I’ve had were in 1990 when the Fun Club sold the first 20 rows to members in the old postage stamp days. I was 10 rows from the front .............now that was memorable

Tickets on Viaggo ( I think that’s the spelling).
Look I’m 53 and have been a MASSIVE fan since I was 13 ( sh*t that’s 40 yrs I’ve just realised ) I’m lucky I have seen him live 5 times, Fun Club member etc ............BUT £300 is just crazy!!!!!!! I just don’t have that sort of money in this economic climate. The only tickets I would have been able to afford ( when they were first on sale) would have been the ‘nosebleed’ seats . If you’ve ever been to the 02 trust me they are the scariest seats EVER!
good luck to all the true macca fans out there trying to see him
Viagogo (like Seatwave, GetMeIn etc.) are secondary market ticket resellers and don't sell tickets at face value. They are basically a safe way to buy tickets from touts. Its people who have bought regular tickets and are selling them on at whatever price they choose (plus commission for Viagogo). Much as we hate it we can't blame Paul for that unless he does an Ed Sheeran: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-44251887

Too late for affect tickets for Paul's upcoming shows, but this is really good news:

It just means you'll see ticketmaster offering more "platinum tickets" and more will end up on stub hub. It's just the way the concert industry works these days and there's no way of changing it.
Bands doing VIP packages is really the same thing. Sure you get some extra merch and you might get to watch sound check from half way back the arena floor like in Paul's case, but it costs pennies on the dollar to the artist yet they just turned a 150 dollar ticket in to an 800 dollar ticket yet we are all ok with that. It's just one big business vs another.

I would not pay the money for any of these VIP packages but to each their own. It would annoy the heck out of me to pay the big bucks and be halfway back in the arena. My goodness, if people were say 10 rows from the stage would they really interfere with the work going on onstage. Finally, if there was not a market for these VIP packages the bands would not being doing it.

You are not halfway back in the arena during SC. You are behind the first section, so about 25 rows back.

It's not just the external sites. Ticketmaster is now the biggest ticket scalper around. It's a crime. During the presale today, at 10:06 it said "SORRY THERE ARE NO MATCHING TICKETS AVAILABLE". Yet over on the side, ticketmaster had some for $2000 under "But other tickets may still be available!"
What in the world?!

Really bummed that this presale is all Amex. Out of the 8 of us (in our 60's now) who follow him faithfully and have for awhile, only one has Amex, so that wouldn't work. Surely someone out there realizes that a lot of diehard fans don't carry that card...or do they just not care? Really, really disappointed in this presale. Hoping that he also adds more US sites, but that might not matter.

There are only about 50 rows on the floor. So that WOULD be half way back

The website was misleading in terms of the PM.com presale. Fortunately, i do have an AMEX. I got 3rd row for Molineon the hot seat VIP, and 15th row floor for Madiosn NON-vip. It took a few minutes but tix finally started to pop up. Good luck to all.

And really it all depends on the venue. I was about 40 rows back a few times.

£300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!
ARE YOU KIDDING ME!
YOU CAN STICK WHERE THE SUN DONT SHINE MACCA
Is that for a regular priced ticket? Our prices in the U.S. are much higher, well, at least for the V.I.P. tickets. For a Gold V.I.P. which gives you a seat around rows 8 -12 and some merchandise, it is $850, which today is £646.75!
We are supposed to have $29.50 tickets but they are not showing up on the website or already gone.

In the last venue I was at there were WAY more than 50 rows, so 25 rows back was 1/3 of the way back, approximately.

Exactly, how is this even legal ?! In France for instance it's ILLEGAL to see tickets above face value, yet Ticketmaster.fr sell these Platinum tickets with a 2x, 3x markup with ZERO added value in some cases (in others they give "early entry" so I suppose they can put the value there).
I suppose the rationale is that it's better for the band/promoter/TM to be selling these tickets rather than touts but at the end of the day the fans (the most dedicated ones of course) get stuffed so they should really be trying to fix that...if they cared !

One more whine...after having been registered for a long time on the pm.com website, got no presale password or code. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Will try for the regular sale, but looks like seeing Paul and band again might not happen. We've had such good times over the years. We have 8 or so in our group, and I'm letting them down. Whine over...fingers crossed...

The $2000 ones are probably front row.

This is why I never like to do presale... last year, rather than trying to get a ticket at the pre-sale or first day to purchase, I waited until six weeks before the show in Wichita, and the venue had some good seats still available, and I got a good ticket directly that way, through the venue. It also gave more time to be able to save up a bit longer. And just in my opinion it's good to wait until all the shows are announced, because you may prefer a show that's a bit closer to home that you'd rather go to... and if you buy early before everything's announced, you could be stuck with a ticket to a further location that you have to sell, unless you don't mind going to both shows, lol.
Since I was by myself last year and only needed one ticket, it was easier for me to wait until a month or so before the concert, but understand if you're trying to get multiple tickets, especially with 3 or more seats, it would be more difficult to do that, because finding seats together at a later date wouldn't be as easy to find. For multiple tickets, it probably would be better to take advantage of the earliest sales possible... so can understand people's frustration if they're not able to get into the pre-sale and first day of purchase, to get multiple tickets.

This is all easily traceable back to the greed some of us were attempting to discuss in another thread. Paul simply doesn't care. He walks out with his cool million and a guarantee of a packed house no matter what...and he isn't the only one. It will never change. These big rock legends have about another decade MAX of this level of activity and popularity so they're going to soak it up for the rest of their lives.
Too bad these rock legends don't do what JK Rowlings has done to try and prevent scalpers from getting tickets to Harry Potter show in London. My family will be going to London and see it in December and you don't even get a ticket. You go to the box office the day/evening of the show to get ticket and need to show proof of purchase and photo id of the person who bought the tickets. I will also mention this show is reasonably priced especially when you compare it to seeing "Hamilton" in NYC.
Another excellent option! They simply don't care.
You are right, they are getting their money and that is all that matters. They know there is a market out there that will let them charge anything they want and will sell out. Does anybody really think the McCartney team cares about the fans on this board getting to see him in concert? I truly understand an artist wanting to make money but in his case he is a billonaire and can afford to make the prices more reasonable and still make a nice profit. In addition, think of the money he makes in merchandising when you are selling a t-shirt for $35-$50. Also, it seems to me he makes a bit of money (lol) on his sound check package and people are not even very close to the stage.
Once again, I will give major credit to JK Rowlings. She took real control of her show and has a system where real fans are going and at affordable price for theater. I believe she knows with the prices she charges she will still make quite a bit of money and that is not even including the amount of merchandise that is sold for the shows. She has proven it can be done, I wish others would follow her lead.
The man is pushing 80 years old. I highly doubt he stays up at night worrying about how tickets are sold. He has a fee, and promoters charge a price they need to, to cover his fee and make money. Paul gets his $$$ regardless of 1 ticket being sold, or all tickets sold.
This ridiculous whining is so over the top and ridiculous by the "adults" here. Tickets were readily available for all to purchase, so as long as you can use a computer properly, and read basic instructions. Embarrassing to compare ticket sales to his show to Harry Potter LOL.
Maccaroni74...love your name, since our group graduated in 74. Wondering, though..."tickets were readily available for all to purchase?" Well...we generally can use a computer properly and we generally read basic instructions, but we did NOT get a presale password or code through email, and we do NOT carry AMEX, so I don't think "readily available for all" is the correct scenario. Bless your heart, we still love Paul and band and still hope to see him this time around, but you're not correct. We had NO chance for presale tickets. Not whining this time...just stating facts. Hope you got great tickets!
