I certainly hope Fireman Paul has some lyrics from Rushes and Electric Arguments. Ecce Cor Meum is so very beautiful, I’m praying there is something from that album as well
So is anyone buying both sets?
You can only buy both books for $100. Can't buy separately.
I'm with Yankeefan - I'm passing on this one! -
So many books done to death... the one book I would LOVE to read is one which explores the relationship between John and Paul between 1970 and 1980.... as told by Paul... Yoko... and others... So many untold stories... And unofficial stories... They all seem too reticent to tell it. It would be a magnificent read. That relationship between each of the Beatles in that decade is a goldmine. They were not as "estranged" through some of that period as people say. Hidden catch-ups. Pissed off, yes. I always wonder when Paul or John made their new album if they sent the other the album and asked their view... maybe not... most likely not!!... I have no doubt they got a copy of it prior to release and listened... but I would love a book that explored that whole period. It would be awesome.

Maybe if we and Mark Lewisohn live to be 100 we'll see it published! It will be 8 years this Oct. since part 1 Tune In came out. I just want to read 1963-1966! Lord knows when 1967-1970 will come out!

I'm sure the gap between 2 & 3 will be a lot less than it has been between 1 & 2. Part of the delay can be put down to Mark spending a lot of time 'interviewing' people before they have the chance to turn their toes up. So with 2 & 3 being researched in tandem, much of the research for 3 will have been done by the time 2 is published. I'm hoping for that anyway as I still want to be around to read volume 3 as well.

Heads up! Amazon (U.S.) has Paul's book for $60 now (pre-order + no charge until shipped + free shipping)
-
That's a good deal at Amazon!
-
I'm hoping that 1882 is included as that song has a fascinating lyric which is quite unlike anything Paul had written before or since.
-
You can get the Kindle version of both books on Amazon for $60 but I think these books are the type that you want on hard cover.
-
Amazon's deal has gone up. I was able to get it pre-ordered at $60.00. Now it's 89.99.

I'm very surprised too!

Jet could be interesting. In the past Paul has said the song was inspired by a puppy and a pony. Hopefully he's made his mind up for the book?

Glad to hear this - the mix of songs will keep it interesting.

I wasn't too sure about the books at first but now seeing the list & the actual variety of songs they have throughout his years has swayed me substantially! Very pleased with the list of songs they've gone for, glad there's so much more acknowledgement of his post-Beatles career. I was just expecting a few of his big solo hit songs & the rest to be The Beatles

It’s definitely going to be interesting... Some of those stories, well 5 of them came up illegal.
