INGOLD
I was told INGOLD was only for Gold card Amex holders.
wait what?????? Now ya have to have a gold card? I have used my regular blue Amex card in the past.....wish they would tell us this stuff ahead of time. What a racket this all is....platinum seats.....flat out price gouging.
I thought people with regular AMEX cards could use the customer service # on the back of their card. Someone on FB called AMEX and that's what they were told.
We used INGOLD with no problem, with a blue AMEX.
We tried INGOLD with our blue Amex, got bad device error

So disheartening! There must be a reason this kind of thing hasn't been officially dealt with after all these years of fishy business goings on.

Hi everyone - haven't checked up on the Maccaboard very much during COVID, but I'm happy to be back after a several year hiatus! Stoked to have gotten tickets to the MetlLife stadium show. Enjoy the show everyone!

May 3: Seattle WA, Climate Pledge Arena
May 6: Oakland CA, Oakland Arena
May 13: Los Angeles CA, SoFi Stadium
May 17: Fort Worth TX, Dickies Arena
May 21: Winston Salem NC, Truist Field
May 25: Hollywood FL, Hard Rock Live
May 28: Orlando FL, Camping World Stadium
May 31: Knoxville TN, Thompson-Boling Arena
June 4: Syracuse NY, Carrier Dome
June 7: Boston MA, Fenway Park
June 12: Baltimore MD, Oriole Park
June 16: East Rutherford NJ, MetLife StadiumToday as well last few tours, I often find nice seats trickle in 1-2+ hours later with full time efforts of reloading etc
I got through, 6 minutes after waiting at 10:06, and there was real third row pit , but it was $1,600 and I cannot afford that.
While I ended up getting a decent pair at the pricey $399 tier today for Oakland, and was thankful for that. I am a bit frustrated with Ticketmaster. As earlier, before landing my pair, I had to constantly uncheck "Platinum Seats" and I thought I got a very good ( but not that good -pair of seats) towards the front of the middle sides. Turns out it was a single Platinum, "Seat 2" ( which I thought I checked two seats from the map) and turns out I got a single seat for a crazy $1,400+ .
I immediately contacted Ticketmaster. After a few, sorry the event organzier does not allow for returns, or to resell it on their thier site (which I am not intersted in doing).
I requested they escalate to a supervisor with further explanation and details of the confusion and their site kinks, the rush to secure the seats etc, and I received this note:
Hi Eddie,
Thanks again for your response. Sorry for what happened. I know how you feel about this and I know that this is not the resolution that you're expecting. In as much as we want to process a refund for you, please note we will be unable to proceed due to the Event Organizer's refund policy.
It is also indicated in their policy that all sales are final.Sincerely,
May B.
Ticketmaster Fan SupportI contacted them one more time to escalate with no response.
Shame, I had spent over $1,000 on the correct pair and tier after noting the confusing error and request to cancel, and this is how they want to treat us?

How could you buy the wrong tickets? How is this possible when it tells you the seat row price? Then you have to go through MULTIPLE screens prior to closing the purchase. I have never seen so many confused people buying tix than on this board. Its a a fairly simple proces.. Login to your TM account..enter the PROPER presale password...you can FILTER out the type of seats you want...and DONT WANT IE Platinum Tix, VIP TIx, etc. Select and purchase. DONE. I got tix to NJ and Hollywood. Done in 10 min..

I'm glad you had better expeirence.
Your comment was not really helpful.
I used the proper password. As I stated, I unchecked the "Platinmum" tier option as that is not what I wanted, but through the process one has to reload for various new tickets to populate. It does not seem to save the preferences depsite choosing one's selected filters. That included unwanted AMEX options populating when only selecting MCarrtney Fan and using pasword, "PAULGOTBACK"
For my offering, you could use the grid list or you could use the seat map. I tried both. At that moment I was on the seat map selection option. The pricing was not terribly clear with that option. Tickets were escaping me constantly. During check out it seemed I had two seats. On the seat map I thought I clicked on two seats.. The price seemed a bit higher, and upon carefully reviewing my confirmation, it showed "seat 2"rather than two seats and over $1,400 for a single good ticket. Not what I thought I was getting. Given the context, it was not clear while running against the clock and many attempts.

^ In 2017 I accidentally clicked on the wrong venue (it was a new layout to me and there wasn't enough separation between the venues) and believe it or not, Ticketmaster refunded the money immediately after I called them. I was able to get what I wanted which was Duluth, GA Hot Sound Package row 4, dead center, which cost $1600 even - no fees. (in 2013 & 2014, I paid an even $1500 for each) This $292 fee is insane!!
One guy on FB paid $7450 including fees for a "platinum demand" ticket in row 8 of front middle section in Fort Worth! I told him for that kind of money I would have to have a seat on the stage next to Paul!!

I had no luck with Spokane, but got a single seat for both Seattle shows.

You were lucky and you must have been first one in the queue.. I have been using TM for a very long time, for many popular artists other than Paul, and this was one of the worst presales I have ever experienced. It took 7 minutes for the idiotic queue to even let me look at tickets. And selecting tickets is "easy" until TM pulls that phantom nonsense about "these tickets have already been selected by another fan" after clicking on a ticket that looks like it is available. I tried for 3 shows and only got tickets for one. Granted, I am extremely picky and won't buy what I don't like, but the seats I wanted never turned up.
Platinum tickets is how TM has decided to play the scalper game, those are not resales. Those are TM seats that they have priced at "market value." Ridiculous. They have had Platinum for years, with static prices that were higher than face but not crazy, but there seem to be more of them now, and their prices are out of control. But they want you to panic-buy from them and not the secondary market.
-
Happy for those who got tickets and say it was easy....it wasn t for me. Platinum tickets for $2000 in the back of the arena?
I tried multiple times to click on a ticket and it just disappeared....or they had locks and nothing I did unlocked them.....INGOLD and my Amex blue card would not open them.
and the thousands of tickets that are available on resale sites now for jacked up prices makes me think this whole thing is illegitimate. Real people struggle to get real tickets at an affordable price. And those Ticketmaster "fees" that add $100 or more to a ticket....WTF?
I tried for hours and got nothing....Paul is now an elitist artist, and for someone who lost her job cause of the pandemic, has struggled along, and saved up $300 so I could see Paul.....I ended up with nothing. Dont want to fly across the country for a crappy seat in the back.
by mid afternoon all the available tickets were "platinum"......Ticketmaster's own version of the resale game.Paul needs to do something to stop this.

I just tried the ticketmaster tip, they wanted to charge me $125 service fee for the same ticket I was trying to buy on the PM site. $500 for a $256 ticket. Sure, that may be easier but it's a lot more expensive. Of course the PM site won't sell me the single ticket. It says I have to buy two, but there's only one ticket avaiable. I tried to buy two and of course it says no because there's only one ticket. I'm giving up and buying one from a scalper the day of the show.
-
For anyone who isn't happy with the tickets that they purchased or mistakenly purchased tickets they didn't want: when I bought my tickets, I noticed that there was something called a "Free Looking Period" before I entered my payment details. There was a statement that said that tickets could be refunded within 10 days if they were not to the customer's liking.
Doing an online search for "Ticketmaster free looking period" yields hardly any results (and the one result looks like it's a contract that is more detailed than Ticketmaster let it on to be). Maybe try researching the free looking period to see what you find?
EDIT: My tickets were official platinum. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

I know passwords can't be 100% secretive and secure, but sure would be nice to tighten it up a little bit. Every little bit helps about brokers and agencies.

That's terrific that you managed 2 single seats for Seattle! No way I could select single seats until magically late last night but by then, they were pricey for what looks to be high up behind the stage. I've never been able to pull ANY seat for Spokane. I may try again in the general sale. If that fails, I'm still hoping they will offer tix to watch live on line.

Nightfish,
I can understand your disappointment and frustration over what I agree are eye-popping prices for "dynamically priced" platinum tickets, but I don't think TM is responsible.
According to the TM website, official platinum seats are made available by artists and event organizers through TM, the goal being "to give the most passionate fans fair and safe access to the best tickets, while enabling artists and other people involved in staging live events to price tickets closer to their true market value." In other words, if someone (not me) is willing to pay $5000 to sit front row center, the performer and/or promoter have decided that they want to receive that $5000 rather than a scalper who purchases the ticket at a lower price and then resells it. Moreover, it is highly unlikely that McCartney or his promoter, AEG, would allow TM to scalp the tickets, and equally unlikely that AEG would do so without McCartney's consent.
Perhaps I am mistaken. If so, can you (or someone else) tell me why you think it is TM rather than McCartney and/or AEG that is profiting from the practice of selling "dynamically priced" platinum tickets?
-
Fan presale for Seattle, single seat section 4, row Q is $450 USD, with fees = $544.29 USD. Interestingly, the seat was referred to as a "barstool"! Judging by the map, the seat (or barstool) does not look to be a very good seat. This ticket is not showing as a Platinum Seat so I'm not sure what's up with the pricing. In any event, I'm still hoping for something much more affordable in the general sale.
-
I was looking at Spokane and when you put in the pre sale code no tickets come up. When I didn't put the code in I was able to get to the checkout page for both regular seats and 2 for the Hot Sound package. Also there were no TM fees added. I wonder if it's a glitch ? I got 2 for Hollywood and it made me sick when I realized how high the fees were.
