Set List critique

Open with Coming Up to get everybody moving.
Drop Here Today for the sake of his voice.
Do People Want Peace from Egypt Station for Ukraine and then have that blend into Give Peace A Chance to salute Lennon and Ukraine.
Two of Us from Let It Be because most of it is harmonized and it doesn't strive for epic high notes like on Blackbird.

Did anyone see this on Paul's Twitter today? (as if he'd take requests!)
What would be on your dream Paul McCartney setlist? In anticipation of the GOT BACK tour and Glastonbury Festival, we've curated some of our favourite live tracks on @spotify. Listen here: mpl.pm/SOMBP
My answer: (again, just wishful thinking!)
No More Lonely Nights, What You’re Doing, Beautiful Night, Calico Skies, Little Willow, Here, There and Everywhere, I Will. Too many to name them all! Please drop Mr. Kite and sing In My Life for John. Drop Something and sing While My Guitar Gently Weeps for George. ️️
In our dreams he would do requests -lol. My wish list from his solo career would be "Little Willow", "Take It Away", "That Was Me", "About You" and or "Dance Til We're High". I am not including songs from "McCartney III" that I expect him to do (Find My Way, Slidin etc). There are many others but just picking a few favorites that I would love.
He already does "Here Today" for John but if he wanted another song for him I would select "Early Days" from "New" which would be perfect IMO and song he could sing. I think Paul has done great job with "All Things Must Pass" and that would be the song I would swap "Something" for in his set list.
There are too many songs after his Beatle days that he has ignored so I would not put a Beatle song on this list. If I had to choose one, I would make it something like "Rocky Raccoon".
P.S. Wouldn't it be nice if Paul put that type of tweet on his own web site board -lol .
Great Post Yankeefan.
Like you said, I hope that Paul "adds" some Solo songs that he has never done (or rarely done) before. I was so frustrated when Paul didn't do 2 of the best songs on Egypt Station in 2018...."I Don't Know" and "Dominoes". Both songs are way better than "Fuh You" and "Come On to Me" in my opinion. And maybe he could do "Happy With You" as a tribute to Nancy. Love your choices for new tributes to John and George also.
Finally I would love "Rocky Raccoon" as a new "Add-On".
Thanks
Agree 100% on those Egypt Station selections except Happy With You, which I love, might be too taxing to his voice.
One thing is for sure, he has never done Oh Darling live, which is a great shame, and I certainly don't anticipate that one popping out now!

"One thing is for sure, he has never done Oh Darling live, which is a great shame, and I certainly don't anticipate that one popping out now!"
He should have done "Oh Darling" in his Wings days when his voice was just incredible.

Yes, it is a shame that Oh Darling wasn't done live when he was much younger. That would be an absolute disaster now. Can't help but wonder if doing a number of songs that can really rip up the vocal chords has had a cumulative effect over the years. Was listening to Gratitude off Memory Almost Full which has him going at it hard and harsh. That, too, would be out of the question now and that album was from 2007, much closer to the present. Undoubtedly, the studio is very friendly in terms of not wearing your voice out compared to long live performances

As I mentioned before, Paul was his own worst enemy regarding his voice. It has been noted for years he did not drink enough water/liquids to help his vocal chords when performing live. There is no reason besides greed (money grab) for him to do over hour soundcheck before doing close to 3 hour live show. While myself and others are grateful he played long concerts, he should have understood that it would be good for his voice to cut down length of show to 2 hours when he got older. Paul is not Ringo who has others share the vocals during concert, Paul sings every note of every song. Paul also smoked for many years which did not help things. Paul toured too much the last 20 years and that takes its toll on his voice. Yes, the studio is much friendlier to your voice because if you only want to do one song and call it quits for the day, that is fine -lol

Exactly! If he tried it today he'd burst a blood vessel!

Everybody's got it wrong. The stage is going to have a familiar look with colored lights ... actors will be part of the show... someone will walk with a drum head with "Got Back" in bold letters... The piano lights up ... Hello Abe! Says Paul ... as they do a bit of a piano jam ... why this looks a lot like ... soon they do some bits and pieces from Let It Be / Get Back movie .... Paul does a piano song while the stage transforms into an apple like set up ...the Audience hears these jams ... during which time the stage now looks like a Roof Top ... and there are many songs played all the way through ... during the previous set up ... Paul has a familiar sweater, vest, shirt , suit ..,, etc ....uh oh did he do any McCartney III songs? Any Wings songs? The chairs and couches look familiar... the control panel .... okay I was just kidding

Yep, imagine him trying to do "Soily" now especially that scream at the end -lol

He probably still has all the clothes he wore back then, so this could work!

And the Bassman sticker comes back on the Höfner and they sell t-shirts with the Höfner with the Bassman sticker pictured. I'd buy at least one.

There are 2 songs that I would like to hear live that he has never done, "With a little luck" which is his only number 1 that I think he has never played live (he rehearsed it for the 1980 tour that never happened due to the arrest in Japan )... and the other is "The Back seat of my car" Paul's most underrated (in my opinion) song by far, and which I don't understand why it was never so popular or successful, it's one of my favorites.. .hopefully and include them, and expand the tour beyond north america.

Both of the songs got as much chance of being played this tour as I do of becoming POTUS in 2024. Love the songs but the remote chance Paul would do either one of them was 40 years ago.

From a current interview Paul gave regarding his upcoming show at Glastonbury (and possibly his U.S. tour)...
PM.com: Do you have any surprises planned for this year’s performance? Or is that all going to be top secret?
Paul: Yeah, to tell you the truth we don't know exactly what we're going to do yet, but we are definitely planning on having a few tricks up our sleeve…

Which means as much as the "Minty Fresh" tour.
I do hope he changes it up a bit.

You can't just embed youtube videos. You have to copy the link and put it in the URL box in the paper clip icon.
