What was the first song you heard from Paul McCartney that made you a fan?
-
@debbie On The Ed Sullivan Show? (The 1st song they sang Feb. 9, 1964)
-
Eleanor Rigby but I think both Blackbird & Golden Slumbers hit it out of the park for me.

Another day en 1975

In the early 80's I bought "Tug of War". Had not been listening to Wings or Pauls solo work until then. I directly liked the first song "Tug of War" and the rest of the album. Still one of my favourite albums of all times.

@theglitterandgold She Loves You 1963. On The Royal Variety Show in London. I was 8 yrs old. My life went from black and white to colour. Done many many Beatles things over the years. Even visited the 4 houses in Ailsa Avenue Twickenham used in the Help! Movie. They virtually haven't changed since 1965.

@littlewillow The video was filmed at the Hammersmith Palais. One of my faves.

@wandy We are the same age. I first heard I Want To Hold Your Hand in late Dec. 1963 at age 8. Fan ever since! Also saw the houses on Ailsa Ave. in 2016. Woman who lived in one of the houses came out when she saw us to show us this photo:

Yesterday. I don’t remember the year I heard it for the first time but I can think it was sometime in the 90’s.

Calico skies if you mean his career post Beatles. Love most of the Beatles work.
-
@njr Great story. I too chatted with a lady there ( Barbra ) i filmed our conversation. Did you visit the Turks Head pub near there? It's where Ringo threw the dart in the parrot cage in a Hard Days Night. Plenty of Beatles pics in there.
-
The first song I liked was She Loves You. I was only 7 years old and my brother listened to it all day long. Since then, there hasn't been a day that I haven't listened to a song by McCartney or the Beatles.
-
@thierry I've rediscovered Paul's song, Sally G. I had forgotten just how great that song is. Recorded in Nashville with the Country Hams.
-
@wandy It’s super
-
@wandy Yes, went to Turk’s Head pub in 2011. Had fish & chips and watched A Hard Day’s Night!
