Hey guys,
Longtime Beatles/McCartney fan here and first time posting/new member on the Maccaboard.
I’m going to see Paul McCartney play Adelaide in October on his Australian Got Back Tour and I am beyond excited. I spent more than I’ve ever spent on a concert ticket in my life and secured a ‘Hot Sound Package’ which includes an invite to the pre-show sound check.
A lifetime dream of mine has been to meet Paul McCartney - even if just to shake his hand and a possible quick photo.
Does anyone know if there’s any chance of meeting Paul at the sound check?
I’d love the opportunity to meet Paul in Adelaide - any tips on how to make this happen?
I just thought if Paul takes a moment to meet and greet fans, say leaving his hotel or arriving/leaving the sound check, I’d love the opportunity to be at the right place at the right time.
If you’ve got any hot tips when Paul is in Adelaide post them here!
I know this is probably unlikely but hey, is worth asking!
Cheers,
Simon

we can see Paul playing Find My Way at rehearsals
-
people are saying that she's a woman was played.

Paul’s voice sounds a lot better in latest rehearsal clips. But what is up with the perennial unshaven scruffy look lately? Makes him look unkempt and even older, hoping we see cleancut classic Paul tonight. Setlist promo link from suggests that perhaps we’ll get Arrow Through Me? Would be great but doubt it. Likely Can’t Buy Me Love stays as the opener. Really hoping for Yesterday, show feels incomplete without it.

Can anyone please share a picture of the page from the tour book that features the concert dates and venues?
I'm curious to know whether it includes all of the upcoming Brazilian shows, as the latest one was announced quite recently.

Except he didn't do it in the show last night. Let's see if it shows up in the set. Nice to see one surprise, She's a Woman. And Jet in a different spot in the set.
Do we have reports from anyone who was at the show? I am eager to hear from people who attended. I'm happy to see that Paul hasn't made the show any shorter, he's still got the energy for a 2+ hour show.

The reviews seem to be uniformly glowing. Here's The Guardian.

@bruce-m
Of course, it is "glowing". (lol). He has not played there in many years, and they are still in awe of a Beatle. The reviewer has obviously not been to or heard about a McCartney concert in many years if he believes he played "deep" cuts - OMG!! His voice is a bit "shaggier", that is a polite way to describe it. Love the description of the song "Come on To Me.", reviewer says the song is "not bad" - lmao. Sounds like Paul is telling the same old stories (George's ukulele etc.) Paul really ticks me off when he says all the time now the reaction of audience to new songs (no lights) in comparison to his hits. Nice job of denigrating your solo songs Paul, freaking wow. Reviewer mentions Paul saying how hard it is to play "Blackbird" on guitar and many young people failed. News flash Paul, I could play it as a teenager (18). Granted not as good as Paul but still was acceptable version. IMO, this review and the others to follow will all be basically the same. Now, a good reviewer who is not a Paul "fan boy/girl" would write a different review. They would note that Paul did not do one song from his last album (McCartney III) and 90% of the songs played were over 40 years old. A good writer would actually mention by name the members of Paul's band and how good they are backing him for two decades. A brief one-word description of his singing voice is not sufficient, go into some detail. For example, his voiced seemed raspy during rockers or had trouble with higher notes. I would mention that it is incredible Paul is still doing a 2 1/2-3 hour show at 81 and joke that I wonder if Taylor Swift will be able to do the same when she hits that age -lol. BTW - her concerts are amazing, and I am not a fan. Finally, I have said this over the years that a good review needs to take a critical eye at the entire performance. Forget you are a fan and be objective. Sadly, too many reviews of Paul's shows read like something Paul's PR team would write.
