@njr I remember reading three years ago when it came out that it would be followed a year later by a deluxe version with unreleased tracks, I suppose in a similar vein to the Egypt Station Explorer’s Edition but then III Imagined came out and I thought the deluxe had fallen by the wayside but this must be it.

I hope there are unreleased tracks rather than just different colors. I've heard an announcement is coming next week.

I agree, although I didn’t buy all the different colors, I think we are all a bit color blind at this point. -
@john-mackintosh LOL Color blind!

Sorry to be negative.... but this album was... McCartney 3.... well, probably my least favorite album of all HIS contributions.. Not really looking forward to any "movements".... Time to let it go, as the most underwhelming album of his career... Sorry, it's just the way I see it...Whilst I like a couple of songs.... not one them goes any way into redefining his career....
McCartney 3... His worse album, ever.... Wild Life shite all over it.
But I love you Paul!

I agree on Wild Life, it represents his lowest point but I think everything he has done in this century is on target. Although Macca III doesn’t have a gem like Maybe I’m Amazed, it is a more well-rounded album than Macca I as he sings on every track unless you consider Long Tailed Winter Birds an an instrumental. Disappointed that the special edition announced today isn’t on CD and no bonus tracks! Think I will pass in this one.

Sir Paul has been on an absolute roll since Driving Rain. Production and themes can shape the overall feel and some of will gravitate towards one release or another, but McCartney III is a strong offering. Furthermore, I like the production, and all instruments are nearly play'd single handed by Sir Paul.
The Kiss of Venus draws me back to early 70s bona fide classic. While Seize the Day and other tracks display the "new original" (to quote Spinal Tap) where the likes of Oasis is just exposed for their sound swipes (rather than influence).
MacCartney III is a worthy entry in the prolific Macca canon.
To be critical, while this package appears to be beautiful, ( I did purchase one) however, I was a bit fatigued with all the previous variants from the initial release. That being said, I was hoping for the least the demos /and outtakes on an additional disc. Or some uber supreme, limited numbered swag. Something for the "Anorak"!
Still, this album is great and deserves the extra look. Plus, art world titan Ed Ruscha drums up another lavish cover design.
Will it be silk screened? It is made to appear like it. With its slight off registered Macca image and overlapped onto the text. Plus the cool colored vinyl to boot. Nice. I think they could have pushed this a bit more though. -

Oops, I made a mistake, J Mac. I meant to say Wild Life Shites all over McCartney 3.... I left off the 's', which makes it sound like I was deriding Wild Life.... which must've been a huge disappointment when released, but I kinda like it.... Still not a big fan of McCartney 3.

Understand. I was on the verge of going to college when Wild Life came out so have nostalgic memories about the times. I always thought “Some People Never Know”. Was the best track.
