The Register said that the guy got eight front row tickets. How much do you want to bet he sells at least half of them and makes money while seeing Paul? I don't care where I sit, I'm going to see Paul McCartney LIVE!!!!!!!!!
-
So I checked this thread and I accidently put my reply in the middle of the quote so here is my reply to the hotel and bars. Thanks for the help I have just clicked on the link and so far it looks great. And many thanks for the bar info also, I'll need a drink to calm down after seeing Paul again.

I would wager a bet that the guy who bought the 8 front row tickets is selling at least half of them.

I got a reply from the Manager of the Well Fargo Events Center in response to the e-mail I sent yesterday stating the frustrations I and others had trying to use their on-line ticketing system for the first time. I also asked him why Des Moines was excluded from the Friday pre-sale. This was his comment "As an FYI, the promotional code box was there for the McCartney fan club pre-sale that took place on Friday." Now, who the H_LL knew we could use those codes for a pre-sale and what the hours of the Des Moines pre-sale were? I certainly didn't! I actually called the WF Box Office Thursday afternoon and was told no pre-sale by 2 people - one supposedly a supervisor! I am also a member of the Events Ctr e-mail club and got no notification I could use my password for a pre-sale there. I'm a bit bummed thinking about what seats I could have gotten had I known I could buy on Friday - sure would have saved a lot of stress and tranquilizers yesterday D Just wondering if ANYONE out there knew about this??
The manager told you a complete and utter lie. I entered my password into the promo box and it didn't work at all. I tried several times during the 10 - 12 Friday time slot....nothing. I know one person who was completely cheated of her tickets because of a stupid Safari issue with their ticket purchasing program. She had 2nd row tickets in the balcony, but then the site crashed. I was insanely lucky in that I ended up getting 2 seats in Floor 1, row A when I clicked on the IEC website Monday morning!!!!!!!!!!!

There are quite a few "drinking establishments" and restaurants on Court Avenue which will be near the Embassy Suites and Marriott. Actually the Court Avenue District is kind of a quaint older section of downtown Des Moines. If you have questions about any places, don't hesitate to ask - I'm familiar with quite a few places in that area (and not just the drinking ones)

Gosh, I don't know if that pre-sale info makes me feel better or worse! Apparently you have a genius IQ and were able to figure out to click on Paul's name in RED on that stupid, unnecessary, second screen? Congrats on the tickets! Just curious, what seat #'s?? I'm just interested to know how the seats on the floor are numbered. I didn't get any (7th row lower level) but that info might come in handy another time
-
Not a problem...seats 43 and 44. I don't know if that means we will be on the far right or left...it would be ideal if they were center though. Wishful thinking on my part.
-
Incidentially, it wasn't genius on my part...I was just as bewildered as everyone else. I had tried all Friday morning to get the tickets through the pre-sale promo-code so I had lots of experience with the site by then. On Monday, I clicked the Paul McCartney name as soon as my computer clock said 10 and I got right in. If I had been on a dial-up connection, I am sure I wouldn't have the tickets at all. I have been wondering how the crowd that stood in line at the event center got tickets within the 30 minutes that the group seats sold out.

You were smarter than me. I would have been completely shut out if I hadn't finally got a real person on the phone who told me what to do. I entered in everything I could think of except the pre-sale password and now you say it didn't work! I don't know if I feel better or worse. Because I only needed a single, I ended up on the floor, but 20 rows back, but I'm there and happy. Still mad at the Iowa Events Center and the lies in the email response. It also said to contact them with any questions, which I did and still haven't heard back on that. Did you see the email where he said the site didn't crash? Some of my friends back in Iowa said it crashed on them.

Thanks for the help Suess I know its a ways off and all but is anyone planning a meet up before or after the show yet? I'd be interested in going if anyone is.

I suppose iit depends on how they define "crash", but the person I know had their tickets and clicked to enter the credit card portion when the site froze. She waited for 15 minutes and did not see anything so she went back a page to see if she could hit reload. The site again, took several minutes to "think", showed a message about a problem operating Safari and then she was bounced off the site entirely. She called the Events Center and they said that unless she had a confirmation number her tickets were released. My tickets took several minutes to finalize after entering my credit card info. I was worried that I was going to get an error or invalid message, but I think the difference in my experience was that I did not try to open any other pages.
-
I didn't open any other windows either and the site didn't crash on me, but for him to address it in the email tells me that many people complained. I went to the site yesterday and they still have that promo code box! You'd think after the hullabaloo about it, they would take it down. :
-
Has anybody who is getting their tickets delivered received them yet? I live in Sioux Falls and havent got mine. Im starting to get worried.
-
The article in the Register said it would be at least two weeks before they were mailed. My sister told me yesterday that some friends of hers, who don't have a computer, got through by phone and got four tickets in the 10th row. I couldn't believe it. She said "why didn't you just call?" I told her that I was dialing and on the internet both at the same time and I couldn't get through on the phone. It took them like three days to charge my credit card, so I think they were not the least bit ready for this type of show. I just hope they have things figured out by the night of the show.
-
I also was speed dialing at the same time I was trying to get on-line. Little did I know I WAS on and just didn't realize it - grrrr - It still makes me SO mad I could spit when I think about it. BTW, phone was busy, busy, busy - I never got through that way (obviously). My credit card company called me about the ticket charge last week - so I assume everything is OK and one of these days, the tickets will show up - at least I hope so
-
Good Evening fellow Macca Fans Looks like everyone had a tough time buying tickets yesterday. It is so difficult to get tickets if you arent up to date with the computer age. I tried buying tickets for Dallas just to get a feel for it but got tickets not available messages. I have a big favor to ask of someone. My husband and I plan to purchase tickets through the fan club presale for Paul NY (because that is the only way we will get tickets) and we have a password for that. The problem is my daughter and her boyfriend want to go as well and we don't have a password to get 2 tickets for them. This is of utmost importance! The youth of our day need exposure to some GOOD music - _I want to get her tickets for a birthday present, so I [_u]really hope I can get her tickets - Paul knows I wouldn't give her mine. Does anyone have an extra presale password which they won't be using next week which they could share with me so my daughter and her boyfriend can have a chance to get tickets? If you can help, please contact me, preferably by email; beth00005@yahoo.com. Thanks fellow maccas!

I did receive my ticket, and I'm out of state, so if it hasn't arrived, I would start calling.

I got my ticket today in the mail - envelope had a PA return address so even those of us in Iowa weren't local mail. At least my tickets are what I ordered - you never know
-
I read somewhere that the company that owns the Iowa Events Center is from PA, which is why the tickets came from PA, I would guess. Mine were what I ordered, too!
-
Mine arrived on Monday (5/2) and I live in California.
