My favourite "non-Beatles" Beatles movie!

Has anyone seen Nowhere Boy? That's a DEEP movie!!!
Yes, I have it. A few inaccuracies though, like John never struck Paul and knocked him down. The kid they got to play Paul was way too short as well! (Paul himself even commented about that!)
Mmmm...I'd like to think John biffed him.

No, he didn't. But he did smash a washboard over Pete Shotten's head and Pete quit The Quarrymen after that. But somehow he still remained John's friend!

But I said I'd LIKE to think John biffed him one...

In an interview of Paul where he talked about the movie, he said John never hit him. Now once in Hamburg (on stage) Paul & Stu got in a fight!

Well I don't think Paul would admit to it even if it did happen. He came off second best to a moped though.

I remember Paul and Stu getting into it!!! From what I've read, Hamburg brought the best out of the Beatles!!! I take it that you've heard The Beatles Live at the Star Cub, Hamburg 1962? I wish that the recording could have been better, but you can hear the tightness in the band. What do you think?

Yes! I have about 4 different vinyl copies of it (put out by different companies and some changes in songs) I would have given almost anything to have seen them in Hamburg! (of course I was only 5-7 years old when they were there!)

OUCH!! Looks like Paul either got roughed up in the Philippines in 1966 or Tokyo in the early 80's when he was arrested for Marijuana possession.

I'm not sure if you're kidding, but that photo (which Paul asked his brother Mike to take after he crashed the moped) was taken Dec. 26, 1965.

Does anyone else like Backbeat?
It's atmospheric and cool Is Tom Hanks' "That Thing You Do" inspired by Beatlemania? I never saw this. I know Hanks said he especially loves George Harrison.

I must confess Nancy, I did know about the moped incident, but I did not know that the photo taken (Paul looked beat up!) was the actual photo taken following the moped incident. WOW, I did not realize that a moped accident could cause so much damage on a person's face. Was Paul trying to be a Mod or a Rocker?

Mmmm...that's gonna be my next t-shirt pic!!!

Love that movie. Yes it's based on Beatlemania and there are several references to The Beatles throughout the movie. Another favorite movie which references The Beatles throughout is I Am Sam.

Made on a small budget, with a cast of unknowns, the performances are all great and The Beatles music in the film is the ORIGINAL BEATLES RECORDINGS.
Is that a typo? They used the actual songs and not remakes? I've never seen this movie.

Correct. The title was a typo actually. It's I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND.

YES!! The great thing about this film as well is that it was made so reecntly to the events - ie 1978.. (compared to now that is so close, and it is certinaly before the "brand" took over). We all admit nowadays the beatles is a brand, a huge commodity.. this film was in more innocent days - where they were allowed to use the original music!!! It really adds to the authentic feel, and cranks up excitement.
