Wow - didn't realize so many people had so much trouble getting tickets for the show. I inadvertently ended up with Albany tickets when I was redirected from Pittsburgh during the presale, and didn't discover that until after I'd already made the purchase. Albany is a couple of hours further drive for us, but that show works better for my gf's schedule since it is on a Saturday, and Pittsburgh is on a Monday. Should we change our mind for any reason, I'll happily offer them to somebody here. It will be great to see Paul in an arena again after the last couple of times I've seen him in Stadiums. Just hoping my view near the side of the stage isn't too impaired.
-
Side view for McCartney is never impaired. Had them many times. They are perfect seats. If you are on the right of the stage, he will be playing piano directly in front of you. If on the left, it is a perfect view. He is constantly turning to his right when he is playing.

One of the best seats I ever had was side stage:

Good to hear. Last time I had side stage tux they were great, but between the seat map, and unfamiliar arena, I was crossing my fingers. Just glad to ser him I'm an arena again instead of the stadiums. I paid more than double last year to sit further away in a ballpark.

I may be able to attend the Albany concert, should know in the next few days. If anyone has a ticket for sale at face value, please pm me. Will consider all price ranges except VIP. Thanks.

Interesting article about luring Paul to Albany. The takeaway:
"If I'm a business agent I'm going to want to be sure there's a good local economy, the building knows what they're doing, and when the artist goes there they're going to provide all the things that's in the artist's rider," Belber said.

Nice article, thank you for posting! here is my takeaway: Belber, who knows one of McCartney's business agents, built a case for a stop in Albany by pointing to: The strength of the local economy, especially all those new tech jobs at GlobalFoundries and the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering. That means people would be willing, and able, to pay upwards of $253 for a ticket (the lowest price: $29.50)
-
Well they paid upwards to $2000 a ticket--I myself paid $1500 for one of the Hot Sound VIP tickets. I'm surprised they didn't mention my alma mater which is in the area--Renssealaer Polytechnic Institute. There are also numerous other schools in the surrounding area if you take into account the neighboring cities.

I think that played a significant part in Fargo landing a show. North Dakota has shown the greatest economic growth of all the states in recent years.

Makes sense!

Quite frankly I think the article is a bunch of nonsense. They could have done the concert in NYC or across the river in NJ where we have Bergen County--I would guess the median income of white collar professionals there to be significantly higher than anywhere around the Albany area. I think Belber is just talking a lot of BS for the media, stroking his own ego.

The whole local economy angle operates on the premise that the only folks that would consider going to a show are those that live in the immediate area. As we know, especially in the age of the internet, this is not so. I got my tix on the fan presale and I live in New Hampshire. I'll bet over half of the seats at that show will be filled by people like me that will be in Albany for 1 day only in 2014. July 5th!

Lol We're coming from Halifax!

Aipotu:
Any body know where the seat numbers start in sections 1 and 3 -- that is, are low number inner aisle or outer?
I called the box office twice and got 2 different answers. They seem like easy questions for someone at that venues box office. I asked what seat in section 3 is closest to the center section 1 or 14 or 16 etc. Facing the stage how do the ticket numbers run in each section. Has anybody been there for a concert that might remember, or does anybody know?

QUESTION-- My ticket says "rear-obstructed-limited view". I am in the 100s, the last section before the roped off ones. Does this mean i won't be seeing paul and I'll be behind his screens, or that I'm just going to be looking at his back. I hope it's the latter because he'll be facing me on the piano.
