Leverage: Redemption, Season 1, Episode 16
The group on the show thinks that one of the members is retiring and Elliot says to her, “Well, that was a hell of a final performance Miss Devereux. Kind of like watching The Beatles at Shea!”
She says, “I don’t think that was my final performance.”
(“Performance” refers to their capers which involve using their skills they formally used as criminals - theft, hacking computers, grifting, etc. - for good, to help people)

Also on Lopez vs. Lopez, George Lopez called his white son-in-law Gringo Starr.

        Jeopardy 12/8/22
        1990s Vocab Test for $1200
In 1992 Vanity Fair asked if Kurt & Courtney Cobain were the John & Yoko of this.

        What is grunge?

        (young woman got it)

What is Grunge? Only you would ask that question Nancy!
Grunge is a mixture of Punk music and Heavy Metal music!

        I know what Grunge is!
You obviously don’t know how Jeopardy works! There are categories listed and answers given. The contestant has to come up with the correct QUESTION that goes with the ANSWER!
They must answer in the form of a question. So the young woman said, “What is grunge?” which was correct!

Scroll down to see all the many other times the Beatles were mentioned on Jeopardy. Sometimes an entire category is dedicated to them!

I've never watched Jeopardy in my life!

Well, you’re definitely in the minority! I’ve been watching it off & on ever since I was little.

        I watched the Dating Game!

Me too! And the Newlywed Game, Hollywood Squares, etc.!

I LOVE THE NEWLYWED GAME and THE HOLLYWOOD SQUARES! It's amazing what you can learn from those shows!

Paul Lynde was my favorite! He had the funniest answers! 😂

On the show Mean Girl Murders (real life stories on the ID channel) the victim Debbie meets this guy Jason Griffith who is an established performer in Las Vegas. The narrator says “He had the background from Juilliard in NY, he performed at the LOVE show which was The Beatles huge show out there. LOVE is part of the Cirque du Soleil world which sits at the top of the Vegas hierarchy.”

P.S. It turned out it was someone else who killed her.

              Chippendales special on 20/20:

One of the dancers says: “We were The Beatles without the talent.”

Someone they interviewed says: “The madness in the audience was about like with the Beatles. They were just going absolutely crazy!”

                Jeopardy 12/29/22
                Classic Flute Rock for $400
Johnny Scott got about $17 for the tenor & alto flute parts on “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away” by this fairly successful band.

                Who are The Beatles?

                (the 10-day champ got it)

Just got this in an email! 😂

SUNDAY: The success of Netflix’s recent Harry & Meghan docuseries suggests our obsession with the willingly exiled Duke of Sussex and his bride has not abated. In anticipation of next week’s publication of Prince Harry’s memoir Spare, he begins his U.S. media blitz with a double-length segment on TV’s leading newsmagazine, interviewed by Anderson Cooper. (The night’s other segment is a profile by Lesley Stahl of prolific film composer Hans Zimmer, which is kind of like being one of the other acts booked on the night The Beatles first performed on The Ed Sullivan Show.)

                    Jeopardy 1/12/23
                    Brews ‘N’ Booze for $1000
Crème de cacao and Half & Half are 2 other ingredients in this brandy cocktail, a favorite of John Lennon.

(I knew this: What is a Brandy Alexander?)

The 1st person rang in and said What is a Grasshopper! 😂 The 2nd person got it right.

                      Jeopardy 1/13/23
                      I Said Dance! For $400

That’s Natalie Portman in the video for “Dance Tonight” from this ex-Beatle’s album “Memory Almost Full”

                      Who is Paul McCartney?

NOBODY EVEN GUESSED! They had a 50/50 chance of getting it right since Natalie wasn’t old enough to be in a John or George video since they’re long gone! 🙄 (she was born the year after John was murdered, so I guess technically she could have been in a George video)

                          Celebrity Jeopardy 1/19/23
Brit Bits for $900 (it was also one of the Daily Doubles and the guy bet $2200)
On a live webcam you’ll frequently see people re-creating a famous Beatles album cover as they cross this London street.
What is Abbey Road? (he answered immediately!)

The “celebrity” was Brendan Hunt, one of the co-creators of the show “Ted Lasso.” He was really smart and won the game by a lot of money (it all goes to charity)

Last night on Steve Harvey's New... Little Big Shots show, there was an 8 year old Latino young man who said that The Beatles were his favorite band! He went on to sing Blackbird and play it on the guitar. It was beautiful!!

I love it when the kids love their grandparents music!!

My reply liking your post here about Elvis was removed. I don’t think the Mod knows what the definition of a rim shot is:

                                          rim·shot
                                          /ˈrimˌSHät/

                                          noun
                                          noun: rim-shot
                                          1.
a drum stroke in which the stick strikes the rim and the head of the drum simultaneously.

It is used in comedy to accentuate when something is funny!

                                            Name That Tune 1/25/23

Clue: Simply put, former Beatle knows how to bring holiday joy.

I immediately knew without hearing a note that the tune was “Wonderful Christmastime.” Neither one of the contestants got it even after hearing the maximum of 10 notes. The one guy came close, but just said “Christmastime.”
