On January 11, 1963, the Beatles' single "Please Please Me" (B side "Ask Me Why") was released in Britain by Parlophone.

Both great songs. I got the album, not the single.

I've got the original album... well, really it is my Mum's album, cardboard ripped from the cover, scratches on the record... but I'm very proud of having it!

Cool. Over here, it was called Introducing the Beatles.

The "Please Please Me" album was the one U.K. album I bought in the late '70s, as soon as I found out that was the only way to get "Misery" and "There's A Place" at the time. Other than that, I got all the U.S. albums, being in the U.S. Many years later I got "The Early Beatles" used, followed by "Introducing The Beatles," but unfortunately that one turned out to be a clever counterfeit of the real thing!

I finally bought the Please Please Me album (and Introducing the Beatles) long after they were released, maybe in the early '70's. They were scarce here. I think my Introducing the Beatles is a bootleg/counterfeit too. Looks very close to the real thing though, and sounds great.

I just saw on EBay somebody is selling theirs for $1500. I bought that album two weeks after getting Meet The Beatles. Too bad the sorry maid took it from my dorm room along with my entire collection and wouldn't give it back. Aaarrrrrgh!!!!

I left them accidentally when moving out end of year. Went back two hrs. later. Couldn't get into the room. By the time I was finally let into my room the next day, they were GONE. None of the college officials would help me get them back.
