Hi Anita and Triplets...10 years ago tomorrow (September 22), I had the privilege of attending one of the greatest Paul McCartney shows. In addition to the awesome setlist performed during the '05 US Tour, Paul turned a fantastic concert that evening in Philadelphia into something very special. He invited three adorable children dressed in Sgt. Pepper outfits on stage with him. The audience loved it! It's these random acts of kindness, from Paul, that creates lifelong friendships among his fans!!!
_______________________________________________________ My sister and I were there also. It was a great show and couldn't believe it when the adorable kids with their Seargent Pepper outfits were brought up to sing with Paul. Macca handled it with such class. Can't believe it was 10 years ago. Maybe someone can put up the actual Setlist that night. thanks

Triplets Love Paul:
Hi Tom, Thank you for your message and for bumping this thread! That concert back on the 22nd of September 2005 was the first Paul concert my triplets attended and needless to write, remains their all-time favorite! Paul's generosity was and will always be the gift of a lifetime for my children which resulted in a lifetime of inspiration. We will never forget that moment in time and are delighted that you share and recall this memory with us. As you know firsthand, Paul is extremely generous to his fans and has indeed brought so many of us together in what has evolved into lifelong friendships. If Paul could know the depth in which he has touched so many of our lives he would be overwhelmed with emotion - so much LOVE! Thanks again, Tom! Sending lots of LOVE to you and your family! Anita and Triplets
WHAT A GREAT CONCERT!!! My son and I will never forget it!
Hi Phil, AMAZING concert, LOVED every minute!!! This concert seemed to be more a huge party rather than a concert. Paul was incredibly relaxed, more humorous than usual, and intimately engaged with his audience - he was absolutely brilliant!!! Your son looked adorable that night, we will never forget his beautiful smiling face!

______________________________________________ Thanks Triplets. I kind of forgot many of the songs we heard that night. I remember seeing Paul in 2002 and the 2005 show was a lot different when you consider the shows were only 3 years apart. I know Paul gets criticized for not enough changes in his setlist but the setlist above was radically different. In 2003 he sang a few Driving Rain songs whereas here he substitutes the 4 Chaos songs which were great. But what was so cool is all the other songs I had never heard him do before. They include: I'll Get You - a very early Beatle song which sounded great Till There Was You - another early cover song where Paul sang lead with the Beatles In Spite of all the Danger - loved this early Beatles song I believe was credited to McCartney/Harrison. Very country type song that Paul I believe sings by himself I Will - one of my favorite Beatle songs of all time; not sure Paul ever did this song live before this tour For No One- same as I Will; one of my very favorite Beatle songs of all time and I believe the first time Paul ever sang this song live Fixing A Hole - obscure Beatle song from Seargent Pepper which I loved Too Many People - great Ram song that was only done during this tour Good Day Sunshine - I think this was the 1st time I heard Paul did this song live Penny Lane - Again, I think this tour was the 1st time I ever heard this Beatle Classic live Please Please Me - another song that Paul introduced on this tour. Loved the harmony between Paul and the Band on this song written primarily by John Lennon Included the 4 Chaos songs, I count at least 14 songs that Paul hadn't ever done (or very rarely) on this tour and that I had never heard live before. And many are some of my all time Beatle Paul songs of all time. When I look back, that was one hell of a setlist and show.

Damn! I wish I hadn't missed that tour!!

I didn't read every post of these 30 pages spread out over 8 years, but I'm really impressed by what little I did read. You can tell Paul's a good guy from his music. It's almost always about peace and love. His characters are either lovable or sad. Or both. Even Maxwell doesn't really seem like an evil serial killer, somehow. Watching Paul take these little children on stage and give them the thrill of a lifetime without making a big deal of it and sending footage to all the news stations and bragging to Facebook about what a great guy he is just makes me wonder how much he does for people without tooting his own horn. Now, anyone who meets Paul can announce it on Twitter, but for 40 years Paul could do good deeds under the radar. Who knows how many stories there are out there. I had no idea about this one until I read some of these 30 pages.

I'm so glad to see this thread is still going strong! I cannot believe it's been 10 YEARS since that night!!!???? Where has the time gone!!!??? I don't think I've posted in a couple of years, so coming here and seeing these familiar posts makes me feel like I'm back home.
