Everytime I try to think of a favorite Beatle song... I think of another... Why is that?
Lack of attention span??
"My other favorite Beatle song!" is a common phrase used around here when just about any Beatle song comes on. It may be a little complex for some to understand.
About as complex as baggism!

You better change that to one G before the board spell checker arrests you. Ps...What was it that you missed about the concept of Bagism? Wasn't it all about 'Eye Judgement' and 'Not Judging A Book By It's Cover'?

^^ exactly! Cause all of them are the best song!
I knew you would understand.
I understood what you meant too. I think Erik did too but...

I'm wearing a bag right now as we speak I don't think Yoko was a terribly good speller because everyone knows that the G should have been doubled so the word sounds like bahg-iz-uhm. I stand by my correct spelling Sur and will only change my references to bagism (sic) I think it's about not judging a book by its bag

You and Yoko and The Rest Of Us...seem to have some things in common What's with the sinister evil paul eye avatar? Don't you have any Easter and May Day and Cinco De Mayo flowers to share with everyone?

That's so every time you read one of my posts you remember that I got my eye on you Steven!

Yeah I always thought it was weird that in Give Peace A Chance, it's bagism, shagism, etc. instead of baggism, shaggism.

Yes, I know, that's a tall order as they have more great songs than any other band before or after, but is there one song that when you hear it you just say "YES!"? And maybe when you first heard it (and perhaps it still does) it gave you chills. I am sitting here this evening listening to the remastered Abbey Road on my home theater system. The one song, if I had to pick one, that gives me that feeling, and has since I first time I ever heard it is "You Never Give Me Your Money." It's no small wonder that it's a Paul song. And what a song it is--so hauntingly beautiful in melody. The words take you through a visual journey that continues from this song on through the remainder of the album--like something on no other album I have ever heard. Paul vocals are amazing. The harmony that comes in one the second line of the song is musical artistry to a high degree. The guitar arpeggios are beautiful to say the least. The vocalizations that he does after "one sweet dream came true today...yes it did..." almost never cease to give me chills. And laced through the entire song are bass licks that are tasteful and incredibly masterful. In my mind there is no better! John used to refer to the sequence of songs from "You Never Give Me Your Money" to "The End" as just a bunch of pieced together unfinished songs that amounted to nothing that was really that great. In my mind that's like saying the Mona Lisa is just a picture of a woman. I don't know if it was jealousy on his part because Paul essentially created this masterpiece with bits and pieces from him or what, but ironically this was the Beatles at their absolute finest with Paul clearly at the helm. Anyway, I'd enjoy hearing your story as to what song really does it for you.
Erik, I can't pick one (just can't!) but I agree with your assessment of You Never Give Me Your Money. Definitely one of my favorites. Paul's voice sends chills down my spine and I swear I'm nearly in tears as he says "soon we'll be away from here, step on the gas and wipe that tear away". His performance is so moving. Have you ever heard the isolated vocal track for the medly? Amazing stuff.

Hi, I'm glad you "get" the extreme beauty of this piece like I do. As I wrote this one just does something to me when I hear it. It's almost impossible to describe, but it may have something to do with memories of the first time I heard it or really listened closely to his singing. I've never heard the isolated vocal track for the medley, but would like to. Where can I hear it? Thanks.

Here you go. It's beautiful. http://consequenceofsound.net/2013/09/listen-to-the-beatles-isolated-vocal-tracks-for-abbey-road-medley/ When they created Beatles Rock Band they had to get all the isolated tracks for the video play. You can go on youtube and find just about any of them (assuming it's a song on Rock Band). I particularly love the isolated bass line for Hey Bulldog.

Cool....thanks! I will check it out when I get home this evening. I'll be primed for a few cold ones and Abbey Road!
