The Stones will always be second to The Beatles!!!! Actually, Led Zeppelin should be second to The Beatles!!!

I disagree with Keith Richards. I enjoy listening to Sgt Pepper's...
I agree with you. I still love the Keith.
I love Keith too, he just over snorted his Dad's ashes when he made that comment!!!
Yeah, he has a wonderful sense of humor. Nothing is too sacred to joke about. One must admire such a personality
I guess now its Paul's turn to say something bad about The Stones which should be easy!!!
I wonder if he is too polite. He don't want to hurt anybodys feelings. I bet that he could (if he would) and that he has opinions.
You do have a point, Paul is very sensitive when it comes to offending people!! That's probably why Keith made the comment about the Sgt. Pepper's album, because he knew that Paul wouldn't say anything!!! Now if John was alive, it would be a different story.
John Lennon already said it: "Roll a Stoney...well, you can imitate everyone you know"

Bill Wyman wrote a book called "Rolling With The Stones," he should have called it "Rolling the Stoney!"

The only Stones record I have is the 45 of I Can't Get No Satisfaction! I never saw the appeal for them.
I think I read somewhere else that you liked Tom Jones. Maybe you like "pretty looking" guys. The smooth guys.
Tom Jones was handsome and sexy, not "pretty." But yeah, I like Paul (and I always thought John was sexy prior to 196 I didn't think any of the Stones were good-looking.

I guess that Mike Love is out of the question?

Well of course he would say that...just to get himself in print if nothing else. He was a Stone not a Beatle. Always a copier, not an originator.

Ha ha!! HILARIOUS how ANGRY some of you are getting over this really non-issue of a comment.

You might be. But plenty of folks are seriously bothered and offended. It makes me laugh! Keith's plan is working.

I guess that Keith is going through heavy measures in promoting his new album, however, I never take what he says seriously. I am a Stones fan but Keith will always envy The Beatles because The Beatles are the ultimate all-time greatest band ever!!

Go easy on Keith, people. The snarly, bitter, REALLY green with envy Stone was Jagger. Always was - always will be.

I don't really know who was worse, Mick or Keith!!! I'm going to have to say both!!!

I actually like The Stones.... not in a way that I'd ever buy any Anthologies or books on them, or remastered versions of anything. Or buy videos, DVD's or even record any special on them off the television ....The only two albums I have of theirs are the one with Emotional Rescue and She's so Cold, and Tatto You (which I really enjoyed)..... never even bothered to buy their Greatest Hits, but I gotta admit they are a great band. It's just that they're very much a distant second to The Beatles, could arguably even be behind U2 and a few other bands that might not be high up on my list. Will never deny their place in history, but they are nowhere near The Beatles... Keith is alright. Mick, though... well, as Eddie Murphy said, he is one ugly.... he has done well for himself, but he is one jealous dude that should just be happy to be relegated to second.

I don't get the comparison of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Of course there are similarities, it's the beat boom of the early 60s... but The Stones is more about the blues. There is not so much Muddy Waters in the music of The Beatles. And The Beatles is a harmony group, The Stones have a lead singer. It makes no more sense to me than The Beatles vs. The Kinks. They all have similarities but also different flavors. The Stones is not a Beatles tribute band. They did not copy and paste The Beatles.

U2...the band that single-handedly took all the fun out if rock. "Ugly prancing egos."

It's much more than that, but your points are basically it in a nutshell. I agree.

In the words of Ian, you should really "do yourself a favour" and get right into the catalogue. Great music. Wonderful stuff awaits!

I think that's an exaggeration (with U2) but I think they represent a kind of self-importance. But that is modern people in general. They don't make you laugh. They're more like annoying. :
