Will 'Let It Be' film ever be officially re-released?
-
I still dont get it. The film shows the band's creative process in the studio. Of course, there will be creative differences & disagreements. Its not like they were insulting each other in public. Imagine the rooftop concert expanded & remastered! Plus, there must be so many other good out-takes they can include. Paul has given the o.k. Is Yoko the one holding this up?

Right now, the only place you can buy "Let It Be" is in the underground.
-
I got a DVD recently from Trade Mark of Quality that also includes a CD soundtrack. Not sure what country it's from, but the booklet with it and everything is in English.
-
Many bootleg labels have put out Let It Be. TMOQ is one of these...as is Mister Claudel.

I believe it was George who didn't want it out. So it would have to have Olivia Harrison's approval.

Indeed, and good ones too. Some of these labels put out audio and video footage that are remastered and put on original factory silver pressed discs. Some of the bootleg releases are better than the legitimate releases.

Why hello Hailey, long time no hear! How are you? Welcome to the discussion, lets hear your view on this topic.

Agreed. I can only remember 2 scenes which to me seemed "normal" anyway: 1). Paul/George - "I'll play it any way you want me to play it..You think I'm out to get you.." 2). Paul/John - "We're a good band. We should be touring again." Again, nothing negative, just creative differences. I think things got blown out of proportion in the early 70's when things did get nasty in public but that was not happening at the time of the Let it Be sessions. Somehow, "breakup" became synonymous with "let it be". But now, many years later, one would hope let it be would get the recognition it deserves. The quality of the songs is staggering. Anyway, the positives of showing the Beatles in their creative process as well as the Rooftop Concert far out-weigh any negatives.

I do agree that "Let It Be" should have been a 90 minute rooftop concert!

The last 30 minutes of Let It Be is outstanding! The first hour could be much improved. I hope if they ever do release it, they include a "director's cut".

Who was the director?
-
HaileyMcComet:
Who was the director?
Michael Lindsay Hogg.
-
Orson Welles' son? He's still around. He could probably do it.

This claims he couldn't be his father, and that DNA testing was inconclusive. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Lindsay-Hogg
