I think Ringo found the band he really feels comfortable with. I remember where he would change the line up after each tour.

I kind of liked the semi-rotating concept. It guaranteed some new songs in the program. I'm interested to see what changes are made to the show from 2012 to 2014 because I don't think he's EVER toured the same All-Starr lineup on the same continent consecutively. I'm obviously thrilled to be seeing Ringo again....I like our little "every other year" agreement. Steve Lukather will be nice to hear again..love his leads both vocally and instrumentally....Todd Rundgren is always a delight and zany as ever. Gregg Rolie will be nice to hear again too. His organ was very low in the mix last time so I'd like to hear more of his musicianship and not just vocals this time. I'm pretty sick of Richard Page. Gregg Bissionette is a machine....and I'm very surprised to see Mark Rivera on this tour since Billy Joel is so active this year. Hopefully we get a track or two from his first solo album, due out in a few weeks!

That's the first I've heard of an album at all since Ringo 2012 came out....I'm not surprised. He's got a formula for sure. I don't expect a whole lot from it, I know I'll at least like it but I feel they've been decreasing in quality since Liverpool 8....

Well, there's been good albums since then but I suppose in the big picture, they really have been. Goodnight Vienna & Ringo's Rotogravure were good albums....then it's kind of the dark ages I like Ringo Rama....thought Choose Love stunk, and I liked Liverpool 8 but it's like the two since then have just been replicas of the past. Very, very few new ideas....all I was trying to get at was....a new album doesn't excite me all that much!

That's a really good article! Really captures what made Ringo the perfect drummer for the Beatles' music, without getting overly technical. I think his solo career has had some intermittent peaks. Certainly "Ringo" through "Rotogravure" has been his best period. "Stop and Smell the Roses" was more hit than miss, "Time Takes Time" (except for the dreary "Runaways") is up there with his best. He got into too much of a formula in the Mark Hudson years (those screaming background vocals got grating), but there was good material scattered through all of those. "Liverpool 8" was refreshing for its straightforward approach, but to me didn't have very memorable songs. "Y Not" felt like leftovers, aside from "Walk With You." "2012," although way too short to be an album(!), I found to have a nice, spontaneous vibe. I've only seen him once (1999). Very enjoyable, but I don't know if I could get into this new lineup aside from Todd. I've got all the live albums, though, so I feel I haven't really missed a lot.

Yes, twice. This will be Ringo's third Albuquerque concert! I am going, of course, and my sister from Denver will be coming into town for the show.

Ringo lost me m Choose Love and decided to not get Lp8 and Y Not. But Ringo2012 was fun because it almost felt like an EP with a couple of new songs, a cover and a couple of remakes. I love the Glass Onion sample to open up the album. Ringo Rama and Vertical Man were great album that are hard to top. I'm only now getting into his 1992 comeback album. Hope the new album is in that vein; with Don Was and Jeff Lynne song writing team.

I am going to the Albuquerque show!! I've seen Ringo twice before here in New Mexico and he is a blast and always has a first rate band.
