Paul, Come To Australia

Petethec:
Is anyone doing the whole leg? Perth - Melbourne - Brisbane - Sydney - Auckland. I am and almost exhausted from buying tickets on silly Ticketek before it begins!! Not the best of websites, but I found the mobile version to be okay, which I only discovered yesterday for the second Sydney concert! See you there
the bit in bold. no, I'm only going to the Perth show. I have 2 Platinum tickets, I think Frontier have made too many blocks Diamond. C5 & C4 are not near the stage & should be $246 imo.

That's what struck me as odd. I'm closer to the stage than C5 and C4 yet i'm only paying the Platinum price. I'm certainly not complaining but I understand why a Diamond purchaser would be annoyed. Unless i'm sitting on a really awkward angle...

you are in B9 right? I missed the start of this website's pre-sale as I wasn't getting emails from the website. the only reason I found out about it was because someone from Auckland posted on facebook. I caught the end of the sale & got 2 tickets in C6

I had ticketmaster phone me up on Tuesday with tickets for that block. I'd enquired about Ease of Access tickets just after the tour was announced and they mucked me around as I got multiple answers. yes they can help me, then no, then a call offering me aisle seats in A1 I was like 'what?' I couldn't believe they'd phoned me. I was like I'm keeping my C6 tickets thanks I don't have aisle seats as I'd like but what can ya do when it's Paul McCartney.
-
The phone customer service has never been good - IF you're lucky enough to actually get in contact. We'll see if the seat works out. But i'm still happy to be close enough to the stage and, at the very least, the screens.
-
Just got back from overseas and didn't completely max out my card, so I planned on getting cheaper seat for McCartney #2 in Melbourne. Problem was they're all gone!! Checked out the lowest range left and it was only limited seats available in platinum, and the seats coming up were possible "restricted viewing" seats. I figured paying $243 for a potentially restricted view, I might as well go diamond again. So I'll be in section A4 both nights in Melbourne. Should be an incredible couple of days!!! Also got tickets for Glenn Hughes playing classic Deep Purple, and The Tea Party 20th Anniversary of "Transmission" last night. Please no one else announce any tours for six months or so!!

Wow that's hardcore! I checked flights to Sydney and couldn't justify it and hedged my bets on another Melbourne show. Luckily the second one was announced so I snapped up a cheap seat but was very happily surprised with the location. As others said, some of the cheap seats are as good as the Diamond ones.

Hi briar, Out of interest, how cheap are we talking and which section are they in? Cheers, Andrew.
-
I got a section 25 row A (so first row of the floor above ground) for the platinum ($250) price for the Wednesday night show. I was pretty chuffed with that after spending so much for the Tuesday show.

For the fans in Australia, they're mostly new!

very true. It will be the first and probably the only time I will see Paul live. I love the setlist on 'Good Evening New York City', I'd love to hear 'I've Got A Feeling' 'Flaming Pie' 'Sing The Changes' 'I'm Down' live. 'Early Days' would be great. anything from the White Album & Revolver I'd be a happy hobbit

Hi everyone, Assuming that there will be a rehearsal in Perth on Friday December 1, Paul must be finally arriving back in Australia around a week from now! It's hard to imagine after all these years! Cheers, Andrew.
-
"Paul's team have been working hard on finalising production details for each venue and final releases of tickets are now on sale in the majority of price types for Paul's outdoor concerts in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland, with prices starting from $69." And of course, loads of great, close seats are "suddenly" now available, after those were nowhere to be found during any of the pre-sales and general sales.

Yeah, annoying isn't it? I notice that package tickets have gone off sale (which I believe is normal a week or two out from the shows) so I think some of those seats were ones originally set aside for Hot Sound, etc..

A bit of a spread in The Big Issue today. I've not had a look at it but I'll be reading it during the slower moments at work tonight.
-
I don't see any threads for the Sydney or Auckland shows. Really? : Usually when he tours the States there's a thread for every concert! Y'all wanted him to tour Australia and now here he is. Where's the excitement!
-
They're there. Just way back through the pages. This thread has been our home for nearly 15 years. It feels like home. Plus, we did all our excitement when the announcement came, when tickets went on sale and when they arrived. There's not much else we can do until next week.
