Maccaboard: Now We Are New!
-
Did anybody notice that on the bottom left of the home page, it says there are 8698 registered users, then it says there are currently 20544 registered users online now?

The other thing (that I see has already been discussed) is the thread sorting. At the minute, it's sorting by 'Newest First' which actually means it's sorting the newest created threads as opposed to newest post. This is very important.
Absolutely. So far the largest, most annoying issue for me is the sorting. I'm seeing threads with replies from August before I see them from November. A lot of the frequently-discussed threads have dropped from page 1. Especially the concert-date threads. We really need to go back to seeing the most recently replied to.

Yes! All the Australia threads should be at the top now, and they are all on the third page!

I don't like the deep pitch black background, like being out in  cold outer space, although also at the same time feeling closed in. The old look may have been old timey, but it was open and didn't feel so closed in, also I like the old timey print look like reading a book. Maybe the former message board wasn't really old timey. I miss it. I especially miss all my writings if they're all gone, I feel stunned and numbed but once that wears off, will feel pissed off as hell. Probably. Betrayed. I've stuck with this place longer than I ever stuck with anything else in my whole life, almost. Writing in here. And this is how I'm repaid, all my writings from past years all lost???!!! There was some good stuff in there. I should have printed it all out on hard copies but I didn't know this was coming.

I hope someone "Out There" is keeping track of all the problems that people are having.

The only solution is that no matter whether you are on the Home page or a particular thread, you have to select 1 day and Newest and click on Apply in order for the most recent threads or posts to come up on the first page. What a freaking hassle!! đ¤Ź

Great to be back!!

Hope so too! My âWhile you were awayâ still is not working, so I have to manually scan each forum to see what has been posted since I last visited.
ETA - It is working now!!!!!! Â
And I got a couple of notifications under Dashboard of thread mergers and posts deleted, but there seems to be no way to delete these notifications once you read them!

I think the popular choice is only for a forum. Go to Yesterday & click on "sort by" and it'll be one of the choices.
Is anyone looking at these questions & problems? I haven't seen one answer by anyone in authority.

Looks like I also now need an avatar, so I'm not just a blank grey floating head!Â

I sure like the old one better (sobs). There will probably be some things I like about this new one better once I get more acclimated. Main thing's got me knickers in a twist is wondering if all my writings are here somewhere from years back (find all posts by susyluvspaul, that sort of thing). I fired off such a hateful missive to "feedback" I feared I'd be ousted, nearly lost my cookies fearing that, cause I do love my Macca and his music. And my writings also mean the world to me. Nobody's commented on this particular issue except for me. Seems harder to get noticed with this new set up, in a way. Or I guess I wasn't as interesting here as I sometimes hoped, didn't make much of an impact. Well, I'm not the Star here (LOL).

Well, the stupid âWhile you were awayâ is not working again! đ¤Ź
Susy, have you tried searching for your posts by clicking on the spyglass? Do you know which forum and what the name of the thread is?

Well, THIS is interesting:
"We have 8707 registered users
Online now: 24886 registered users"
<---this is supposed to be cheeky if you hover over the emoji. *sigh*
I was willing to give the new site a chance, but there is so much that is wrong, I don't think I will be here much until it gets fixed.

IF YOU GET THIS NEW BOARD, SHOUT FOR RINGO! (Remember? From "Help!")
IF YOU DON'T GET THIS NEW BOARD, SHOUT FOR CHARLIE WATTS!

I like the new chaos. I was in a car accident recently*, and this new site reminds me of the rest of my life. Everything is a giant mass of jumbled confusion and nothing quite looking or feeling right that I assume will get worked out sooner or later.
*I'm not purposely trying to work that into every conversation, but it applies this time. Â

You should have. This is a website. Like any other site, it can go down at any time, the people in charge can update it and/or delete anything at any time, whoever pays the bills can simply shut it all down at any time. If there is anything you want to keep, put it somewhere that you can control. Â

I've noticed a couple of other issues that are more inconveniences than anything else.
1. There needs to be a page button at the top of each thread page. Now that everything takes up so much more space, it takes a long time to scroll to the bottom and hit last page. What I'd love to see broght back is the 'go to first new post' feature or whatever it was called.
There should be page numbers at the top, but rather than scroll down or up, you can simply hit the home and end keys to go to the top or bottom of the page.

If you use the ghost smiley, it erases your post. That's kind of interesting.

AND...no one in authority is commenting on ANY of our complaints and/or questions. We are the beta testers I spose.
