A Big Thank You From PaulMcCartney.com

So sorry to hear about all your troubles shalema! I agree, it is really rotten what they did. At least they didn't take away this forum, so you can still come here.
I'd be really up in arms if this forum was gone. It's been my only safe spot on the net.

Hello friends! How do to come in new site, I wonder if it's with the same password, the same email that I did use before or have to register again? I think it's always good renew. Kisses.
Hi Marina The new main site www.paulmccartney.com does not have any personal interactivity requiring a log in. So you no longer need any username or password - the content is now open to all to view without any form of membership. You may comment on main site news items wherever the Disqus comment feature appears at the bottom of the page. You may do so as a guest - or you can use social media log-ins such as Facebook and Twitter accounts to log in to do so with your name and avatar visible alongside your comment. If you do not have a social media account you can create a Disqus account - just enter your comment and follow the prompts to do so. Regards Martin
more of the same complicated mess- create a Disqus account to make comments?

Just a further thought... Upon perusing the pages of this thread and the reaction it has generated, and as a charter member of the National Sarcasm Society, I just wanted to salute the originator of this thread on the thread title. Primarily, the use of the word "Thank" Podgie (Very well done!) Monkey
Once again, you, Sir, are genius incarnated

Am I the only one who actually liked those t-shirts?
Nope, I really like those shirts too. Actually, I liked the whole membership package. I was so excited to open that package when it arrived! I also liked the area on the website where you could review all the concerts (cities and set lists) for each touring year and add yourself if you attended a particular date. I had hoped they would eventually add more details like photos (maybe some fan photos), clips, press clippings, fan memories, or memorabilia.
I really like the poster that is now, no longer being distributed. And those^^^^ were some of the best features of the site. No more FAVORITES or, I WAS THERE buttons.
They seem to be getting rid of any and all fan interaction on the site. Everything that allowed us to add personal touches to the site is now gone.
I'm not surprised by that. A few rifts here were starting to make their way there.
I think you've touched on the truth I was afraid to dare speak

Received the email about receiving a free download of Kisses because I was a Premium member. I do not like and really don't want it.

Here is the original video that got us all so excited about what the new site, powered by HP, could offer...it seems like a far cry from what we actually got as premium members, but the new site is an even farther cry:
Ahh...this brings me back to the days when I had hope that the premium membership would offer such wonderful access to amazing Paul archives...back when I was young and foolish. In a way, I kind of find the whole thing amusing. They told us all the things we could expect, charged us, gave us some stuff, take it away, then ask us for input on what we would like? I find myself being drawn to this thread, Kind of like reality tv. Mainly because the posts seems like a lynch mob in an old western, or like Frankenstein where everyone gathers with pitchforks and torches. Podgie (just need popcorn and to constantly hit refresh in the browser) Monkey

They knew it was going to get ugly. You don't tamper with the Paul-To-Fan/Fan-To-Paul connection and expect nothing to happen. They have probably been told to stand their ground. this is all about the $$$$$, which many of us think shouldn't be a problem for Paul and MPL

I've started a Find A Friend topic in the Talk More talk forum to aid members that have lost contact with Main Site Friends to reconnect: http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=85264 Please continue to post feedback and comments about these changes in this topic and allow that thread to serve the purpose suggested. Its sad the site didn't deliver what was hoped. It would be great to see the timeline back, there were some great pics from fans on there as well as official pics and vids from Paul. It would be fantastic if could achieve what Paul said when launching the site that you would be able to type in a year, eg 1973 and you would get all the information, pics and sounds from that year. What was it he said, type in Wings Live 1976 and relive the experience. I can understand, with Paul officially launching his albums on to Streaming services like Spotify that he can't continue to charge a Premium service for this on the site. Really missing all the extra info we got on the individual album pages. Thanks Chris Harrod

Well, further to the YouTube link that someone posted about the HP link up with Paul I found the link for the one that specifically talks about the website - and it makes very very interesting viewing - the highlights being when they describe what the website will be like - see if some of these descriptions match what we had/have * "Make it totally unique" * "Unprecedented breadth and depth of content for Paul's fans" * "What's going to distinguish this from other major artists websites is that it's going to be very content rich" * "The idea is to intrigue people and bring them into our World...all the stuff we can give that no-one else can give" * "We're trying to push the boundaries in terms of the experience for the fans" *"Fan interaction, they tell you exactly what they need...you create projects to suit their needs" * "The new website is really going to be fascinating, a lot of ideas that won't have been done before" * "The best piece is being innovative" I personally watched all the HP videos and, trusting Paul, spent my money on membership as I was genuinely excited about the website, so I do feel I have been cheated - I do not think it is unique, it does not have unprecedented breadth and depth of content, isn't content rich, isn't intriguing, hasn't pushed the boundaries, hasn't suited my needs, isn't fascinating or innovative and the whole social interaction which they make a big thing of in the video has now gone along with my money, my trust and my faith. And a huge amount of respect..which can't be compensated with a download. Here's the link: http://h10124.www1.hp.com/campaigns/enterprise/mccartney/us/en/paul-mccartney-digital-library-experience.html#nid=powered_by_hp
THIS IS ENTIRELY IT. I don't wish to criticise those who feel that they have nothing to complain about - they're the ones to envy - but I hope that they, and particularly MPL, understand that THIS is why I signed up. It was the promise of SO MUCH additional, unique content. And it is why I feel that I HAVEN'T received what I was promised. Now, I understand that the Live Kisses film WILL be made available free to download for Premium Members so I realise that I'm wasting my breath a little, but I'd like to reinforce that I DON'T consider it to be an acceptable offer. People will fall into two categories: those that didn't enjoy the Kisses project and those that did. The former won't want the download. There's not much MPL can do about that but, even so, there it is. Those that DID enjoy the Kisses project - and bear in mind that I'm talking about those who also paid McCartney £35 up front to be Premium Members - are likely to want a copy of the DVD/blu ray AND BOOK. So, mostly, they too won't actually want the download. That means that for most of us, the download IS NOT an acceptable recompense. A free copy of the DVD/BR would be. Either MPL have made an honest offer without thinking it through, or they know this and have deliberately offered something they know won't hurt sales. I sincerely hope its the former.

As a Foundation member I am disappointed. Apart from the fact Premium members paid for the privilege, I don't feel like I am being treated specially anymore. Not having to login anymore is weird as now anyone can access the whole site. There is nothing exclusive or special about the site anymore. I'm with everyone else. Bring back the old site. Cheers Chrissie.

What I'm confused about is getting two e-mails. One describing the new website with mention of the memberships being done away with and us getting some form of compensation such as a download of Live Kisses (where we've already had issues with before. Four audio songs?) and then I get a second e-mail later the same day that does not mention the gone memberships and compensation. So, are we getting our stuff or not? Which one do I pay attention to?
For a while now, when they sent out email updates, I've gotten two emails...one that said premium and one that did not. Usually the emails have been identical. Apparently they have premium members set up on both a premium email list and the regular email list, so we've been getting duplicates. I think in this case we can just pay attention to the premium and ignore the duplicate that does not mention free download.
