A Big Thank You From PaulMcCartney.com

Love the website thanks for making it free to everyone
Hehe comments like this tickle me,the website WAS ALWAYS FREE apart from a bit of content that was added very infrequently behind the paywall, like the Kiev concert that i couldn't get to work properly even with fibre broadband a few photo's etc nothing much out of the ordinary, the best feature was the jukebox by a long way but nothing earth shattering. The way some people talk about the membership its as if it held the secret to turning stone into gold,it didn't and frankly MPL/HP couldn't or wouldn't be bothered to push the membership to its full potential and THAT'S the shame of it,Paul must have shedloads of media to display and if the site had reached anywhere near its full potential it could,no would have been the must have resource for all things Paul. But lets be clear here the only reason the membership scheme was scrapped was money,it more than likely lack of money coming in from it and given the fact the site had remained in the beta state there was no money coming in from longterm members who joined up at the start,at least if we where to believe the statement that memberships would be re set when the site came out of beta. No this wasn't a cuddly move by Paul to give it free to the fans this was a stone cold business move

Thank you for listen the fans, and try to solve our problems. I continue waiting for our pages, and friends back.

Yes, still waiting for our pages to come back. While some will be thrilled with the contests...it's only a handfull that actually win something. If you made the items available for sale I'm sure many would buy it. As far as moulding a site...wasn't that what the "BETA" was all about?
-
What do you mean "our premium members" ?? You've taken that away from us. A competition only benefits the very few who are lucky enough to win... out of thousands. Hardly making up for stealing our membership, is it? If anyone hasn't done it yet, please sign my "bring back premium membership" petition! ---> http://bit.ly/TUhjOt Hopefully they will take note of it.

Sorry, but contests only benefit the winners and I have not had much success winning contests in my life--especially if you are going to want artwork, etc. I just want goodies--in physical format.

I think what you will find, if you do read the message boards, and look into your files...is that the fans who have been around since the Club Sandwich days (and before) know as much about The Beatles and Paul as your average news reporter. What we would like (and I'm speaking off the cuff here) is the stuff that's not been widely available. For myself, I'm intrigued by unpublished photos from Beatle shoots; anything Linda might've done (as she had the eyes of a fan and was a friend of the fans through it all); any sort of behind-the-scenes with Macca, etc. It's hard to believe there are still things that haven't seen the light of day, but as they trickle out online, one has to think there's still more, even more intriguing items of pop history, locked up in the MaccaVault. I'd be especially keen to see Paul's collection of mementos through the years. We've all heard he's saved things all along the way, so I, for one, would be fascinated to know what's special to him and why. Just my 2 cents.

As someone who has whinged and complained about the lack of feedback, I wanted to be one that openly said thank you for the above update...I, for one, appreciate it. I would also be more than happy to volunteer for any help that you need ie; the closed working group - as a DJ I have a lot of spare time on my hands and feel I have already made some good and sensible suggestions for the website and would offer my time freely to assist. For those still complaining - yes, it's not perfect, but I personally give the website team credit for the feedback, and it's clear that they do want to listen to the fans, and there's still goodies in the pipeline. Anyone expecting loads of free stuff in the post or free tickets I think are expecting and asking a little too much. For now, my faith is temporarily restored and look forward to what comes next.

Happy that they're listening, at least!
