Pink Floyd to release album of new material in October!
-
I'm still waiting for mine to get here, I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR IT!
-
I'm hearing mine now, WOW! Please correct me if I'm wrong but THE ENDLESS RIVER is definitely the son of THE DIVISION BELL only better. Listening to certain segments of the songs/music on THE ENDLESS RIVER album makes me feel like I'm listening to THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, WISH YOU WERE HERE and THE WALL all rolled up into one. What do you think?

Is amazingly sweet and is an excellent tribute to the great Rick Wright. I'm totally surprised with this work, specially with the song "Anisina"... in my opinion, the best track of the album. It really makes me cry!!

Hi WingsOfMacca! How are you? Listening to "Anisina" makes me feel like I'm listening to "Us And Them!" It has a feel to it, very emotional. Take care.

"ALLONS-Y (1)" sounds a little like "Run Like Hell!"

Exactly!! is like Us And Them, but without Waters's influence. I never understood why PF didn't make more albums in the 80's and 90's. I know Gilmour is not a prolific songwriter, but one or two more LP's could been posible!!
-
I couldn't have said it better myself WingsOfMacca! It does sound like "Us And Them" without Waters' influence!
-
"Unsung" sounds like the beginning of "Time."
-
I'll have to get this... Sounds Great!
-
Got the deluxe and, have to say, I absolutely love it... Great job, PF!!
-
No chance of touring the album, I suppose

Not as Pink Floyd obviously. But Gilmour supposedly has a new album set to release next year, and he's talked about touring. So we may hear some of The Endless River then. Looking forward to that!

Hi beatlesfanrandy! How are you? PINK FLOYD has officially retired! PF will never be the same without the late great Rick Wright, however, with Gilmour touring and performing songs from THE ENDLESS RIVER album, Gilmour's new tour should be exciting to see and hear. BTW, what do you think of the new album? Take care.
-
Heard about this a couple of days ago. Can't wait to hear it!
-
PF touring? I don't think so... we're talking about Gilmour and Mason, without Wright and Waters. It doesn't have any sense for me.

I agree with you WingsOfMacca, PF can never be PF without the late great Rick Wright.

I love it! Here's part of a great review from Amoeba Records: "...David Gilmour gives a spectacular lead vocal on Side 4?s ?Louder Than Words,? somewhat begging the question as to why there weren?t more vocals included. However, the album?s lush ambient sound baths are so alluring that you won?t miss vocals on repeat listens. Throughout the album, dense clouds of keyboards serve as a wonderful tribute to Wright as the album seems to be sending him off into the next plane of existence. In that sense, The Endless River is a moving piece of music. No Pink Floyd fan should miss it."

I agree with you beatlesfanrandy, in a way, that's what the picture on the front cover represents.

In lieu of any other Pink Floyd thread, I thought I'd post this here: Roger Waters: The Wall - DVD/BluRay Release Announced The release has been announced for Monday 16th November. It's available as a single disc DVD or Blu Ray, and as a Special Edition Digipak Bluray which includes a second disc with over 95 minutes of extras (including the footage from the O2 Arena with David Gilmour and Nick Mason), art cards and a poster Special Edition BluRay:

I'll definitely be purchasing this when it comes out, Roger Waters will be needing extra money for his upcoming divorce.
