SusyLuvsPaul:
oooooh (gasp)
'rise' a really cool, sexy song and video
many thanks
i love 'retro' stuff like that, and vintage movie mags that feature 'liz and dick' -- and ted turner classic movies, movies were the best back then, i sometimes feel that very strongly... 'sting' looks tacky there (laughs). the whole thing is so 80's. but that was a good album. 'i have only come here seeking knowledge, that they would not speak to me in college'-- 'king of pain, i'll always be king of pain' (i've felt like the queen of pain in the past, but for years now 'i haven't got time for the pain, i haven't the room or the need for the pain'-- i'm not 'the queen of pain' anymore, and as you might imagine, glad about it
)
Well...I made you gasp!
wow...this is a good thing, cause now I know that my musical taste is still relatively intact, and my googling efforts are not in vain.
Seriously, I'm glad you enjoyed it...I really dig it too.
Yeah, the Sting shredded wardrobe effect wasn't very impressive was it??
I have to say, though I love the song and the high energy of it, and how bout' that fantastic drummer??? I do believe he was playing a blinder mate!!!
At lastly, you cracked me up when you were ranting about your pain issues!
I can't believe you brought up that song, KING OF PAIN??! When I first heard it and learned the words, I said to myself. omg, ..this man can see into my very soul
I then proceeded to learn to play it on guitar and became obssessed with it. Not to worry, I'm much better now, and haven't played it in years.
, but you know I just looked it up and I actually still like it alot...you know I just had to post it... Enjoy!

RISE - Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass
I wonder if the woman, pictured mostly in the video, is the woman who "that (this) guy" was/is in love???
-
yeah, i wondered about that too, andy. i guess she was. she didn't try to dress sexy for him, looked like a librarian, but those were different times i guess when not every ingenue tried to look like a 'ho' thanks for 'king of pain' claudia

[quote="SusyLuvsPaul"]yeah, i wondered about that too, andy. i guess she was. she didn't try to dress sexy for him, looked like a librarian, but those were different times i guess when not every ingenue tried to look like a 'ho' Hey guys...yeah, my take on her, was that he was DEFINATELY her man! It was written all over them, and as far as the way she was so casually dressed? I think it might have just been an impromptu shoot...she might have showed up and they just went with it....just my thoughts.
Here's another one from Herb Alpert before we move on. Actually, I have one more to post and that will close this chapter..lol. TASTE OF HONEY - Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass

And last, but not least...bare with me, now... it's real jazzy!

THE LOOK OF LOVE - Herb Alpert
-
wow, thanks, claudia, i sure don't mind looking at and listening to herb
he's got a real mellow vibe
is he mexican or at least half-mexican? if so, he must be one of the very tallest mexicans, he and ricardo montalbon. you don't see that many tall mexicans. we've got a lot of mexicans in the south now, and they've really jazzed up the environment, they've really added a lot of vivid colorful artistic good things to the culture
i love 'em. some helped me get my car out of the swamp once when the road was flooded and i ran it off the road almost hitting a big tree.
