It's a damn-good album, kapoo. With that said: Is it the all-time best? If it is, then I'm a soccer-mom from Billings, Montana.

Ive always been of the view that most double albums are flawed, bit too much filler and if you stripped that out you'd be left with a hell of an album but hey ho its not to be so with that in mind i put forward my favorite.. The Wall Pink Floyd

                    Quadrophenia should be considered.

White Album, of course. I would rate London Calling second. But the best 1 1/2 album would have to be Second Winter by Johnny Winter. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Winter

This is a fantastic list. I have no argument against any of those five. I will add Chicago Transit Authority as well - people forget how good and how different Chicago's first couple albums were from anything else. Sometimes we forget some albums were doubles because the CD form is only one disc, but I'd add Bob Dylan's Blonde On Blonde and the Rolling Stones' Exile On Main Street as two such examples of other classic double albums. One more - The River by Springsteen - very good as well.
