Bob Dylan has released a new song, "Murder Most Foul," his first new original in eight years and it's not very uplifting and cheerful for this particular harrowing time as it's about JFK's assassination. Features the line "had his head blown off" and is violent in parts, but I suppose it's difficult to sugar coat an event like that. Upon first listening, and I only heard a few seconds as yet, it doesn't sound too good. Not much of a tune and his singing...ugh...imagine if he'd been able to sing like Macca, Tim Buckley or Chris Issaaks or someone like that ! If he'd had a beautiful singing voice coupled with all those genius songs.

Dylan's dropping a new double album first of June, called "Rough and Rowdy" !! Hot dawg snazzy ! hubba hubba, the new single from it is "False Prophet" which I must look up online. Its title implies it might be about Prez Cheeto.
Thanks for this, Bobby.
Mourning the demise of the exuberant flamboyant Little Richard (Macca stole his "Hoo!" or "Woo" for "She Loves You"), at age 87 he had a good run, but it's upsetting even when the oldest oldsters pass.

I spotted Lordes Leon in a commercial for a fancy perfume or something lux like that, in a snippet online and didn't hear her sing but the sound thing was turned off. Then I couldn't get it back. I wondered if the beautiful Lordes, Madonna's kid, inherited some of her singing chops; I recently heard a Lulu Simon pop song (she acted it out in the vid, in a swimming pool surrounded by her peers splashing and cavorting) and Lulu didn't sound that hot and the song, like typical bland pop fluff. Lulu's Paul Simon and Edie Brickell's daughter. I looked her up online, and she revealed she's inspired and enthralled by Carly Rae Jepson (with parents like hers!) whom I thought is exclusively pop. Yet, Lulu claimed she's written songs "on my guitar" so I wondered if any of those were folk rocky and sensitive cerebral fare taking after her old man. She wore a sullen spoiled pout in her music video. She's a cute little thing, though. One Star offspring I know is really talented is Jessie Bridges, daughter of Jeff "Starman" "Crazy Heart" Bridges. 'Course he's musically gifted too. Jessie sings beautifully and her songs are amusing, witty, deeply thought out. James McCartney sings like an angel and has some beautiful original songs. I saw Sally Taylor, Carly's curly blonde haired girl, sing backup for her mom Carly on a big St. Mary's cruise ship concert, in a music vid. Sally looked stunning and sounded good. But her singing and songs aren't as good as her mom's, or she'd have become successful and famous herself, I suppose. Her dad James Taylor is no slouch at singing and songwriting, either. Their son sings and writes. But there again has not made it big like his parents. Pity. It's a shame 'cause they had the background and connections, but still no go.

Kelly Clarkson and her manager/hubby with the big eyes Blackstock are divorcing, which is a shocker. They've got two cute little tykes. Just months ago, Clarkson gushed about her great sex life with him, said they did it every night (too much info !) and she's shared before that he's the only guy who ever turned her on. Kelly's annoyed some lately by bragging about her great personality which snagged her her popular successful talk show and about her big gig on "The Voice." And boasting about her love life. And now this ! She had irritated people, too, with her long rambling complaints about having to do it all in quarentine, put on her talk show, judge "The Voice," cook and clean and look after her little kids who exhaust her, etc. Online onlookers kept posting about her having 45 million bucks, didn't that help at all and how they have to do "all that" without benefits of big bucks. Some kept harping on her weight in less than tactful terms A few said her hubby cheated on her all along "like his daddy Narvel Blackstock did to Reba." . Kelly Clarkson has sparked a backlash, I'm afraid. Some picky posters accused her of looking like Fiona in The Shrek movies, 'cause Kelly's been showing herself, now, in her video blogs, without a speck of makeup and with drab lifeless locks in sweat pants, in a dramatic presentation of ostentatious misery. Heck fire, even I would try to fix up some were I in her exalted position and exhibiting herself online bitching with Chelsea Handler. She's usually done up in heavy makeup, big bright flashy smiles, long flowing wavy tresses and fancy gowns. And she moans and laments about her chronic "depression" wheras she touted her bubbly outgoing fun personality, before. She sounds like an airhead sometimes on her talk show. Too often. I feel for her, though. I did use to like her more.

It appears Adele and model Naomi Campbell might feel some interest in the sexy rapper, Skepta. Adele flirted on his social media, and then Naomi popped up flirting.
I came across a documentary on Joni Mitchell and it showed her pictured on her "Don Juan's Reckless Daughter" album cover costumed and dark-skinned groovin' and boppin' looking like a cool black guy. There's been an uproar lately about performers who used "blackface." In the film, though, Joni said the jazz great Charlie Mingus thought she looked cool done up like that, and contacted her and they worked together during Mitchell's jazz phase.
The "Hamilton" musical filmed for Disney Plus channel has garnered some ire. Alexander Hamilton managed and procured slaves for his rich wife's New York family in the 1700s. He did something like that. He disapproved of the practice, though. Lin Manuel Miranda has apologized. I don't think it should be canceled as it has a lot of artistic merit, from what I've read. It's obviously more a work of fiction than historical, though it's said to inspire patriotism and love of country despite the outlandish aspects--well, it's a musical. Obviously the Founding Fathers didn't dance and sing all the time.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have a new single out called "Happy With You Everywhere," something like that; hope they didn't rip off McCartney's "Happy With You" love song from his "Egypt Station" album. His goes on about different places and activities he finds joyful sharing with his lover (I think it's about that). I wonder if they were "inspired" by his lyrics.
I'm dreading a listen of Taylor Swift's new "surprise" effort called "Folklore," though it's said to be "alternative" and folksy--so it might avoid the wincing cringe factor (for me, anyway) of her "pop" songs. Certain Swift country songs from her beginnings are very catchy. She needs singing lessons, though I don't know if that would help. I recall when Madonna's vocals suddenly got deeper and more distinctive. She'd had singing lessons or something.

The only song I saw, right after the midnight release, was a song called The Cardigan. Visually, it was a stunning production. If it's any indication, I think it will be well accepted.

I like two or three of Swift's new songs and will listen again to more of them. Part of it is, I'm a sucker for indie alternate folk music. Someone should have advised Swift on her styling for a vid I saw, the one where she crawls into the piano seat--she's done up like Leanne Rimes in one of Rimes' old vids--in a 1920's camisole and her hair pinned up in a roll--she said she did her own makeup, hair and styling for this vid, and it shows. She looks great big and awkward and dorky and kind of plain, dough-faced. Facially washed-out. Her complexion. I think it's for her "Cardigan" song (?). I've seen her look much prettier.
Her singing seems somewhat better on some of the new ditties. This is her new "Folklore" cd dropped the same day Kanye West had planned to debut his "Donda" album named for his late mother. Some think Taylor chose this date deliberately, out of spite (she can be a spiteful, vengence based Muppet). I hated her pop hits Bad Blood and Shake It Off, so much, especially the former. Ugh. Was gobsmacked Macca performed "Shake It Off" with her somewhere.
Throwback LOL: I opined Candace Glover's rendition of "Satisfaction" she performed on "American Idol" that year, superior sounding to Jaggers original ! I still think that ! ( I'm somewhat biased favoring female music. ) That season I "live blogged" American Idol in here and had a lot of fun with that. My writing came across as hyper, manic, almost hysterical with breathless excitement (laughs) ! I'm prayin' I get to see the next season even with its not being "live" with elaborate sets and big enthusiastic in-person audiences, etc. At least it will still air. The producers are doing the best they can during the prevailing health crisis.

Wasn't the Cardigan supposed to be a dream sequence? If so, that's probably why she's not so dolled up. Really liked that video, kind of an Alice in Wonderland quality to it.
I also seem to prefer female artists.

New documentary is out about "The Go Go's" a band called "quintessential" to the Eighties

I caught Jennifer Hudson (online) singing "A Change Gonna Come," Billie Eilish sang an original "My Future" and John Legend offered a piano number on the televised DNC this week. I didn't see Mary J. Blige, the Chicks, The Staples Singers and Common perform on there yet. Hudson sang her tail off and ripped it up, as usual, and was all gussied up in an orange gold gown, fancy gold jewelry, even gold fingernails ! and an upswept hairstyle and nicely done makeup. Billie E. looked like something the cat dragged in, her hair and clothes a trainwreck (though at least her togs were clean), but she sounded good. She sang well. I'm embarrassed to admit I found Legend's song a bit boring, but then, I didn't listen to all of his, and not very closely.

Katy Perry finally had her baby girl ! Named her "Daisy Dove Bloom" ! that's cute. So many wags opined her pregnancy was fake, she had a "fake bump" that I started to almost believe it too. But had she used a surrogate, why lie about it? That would be a REALLY big fib. Katy's new album "Smile" has come out. Rolling Stone said it's good, but more of the same from her, in her usual style. I like the old gal. She's real funny on "American Idol"--one of the few pop stars who can be a Lucille Ball type comedian--peeps used to say real pretty girls can't be funny, which is B.S. Horrible anti-feminism.
Bindi Irwin's not a music star (though she sang as a child star as well as acted, the most adorable child star, ever) but I'd like to mention she's pregnant. Finger pointers said she's too young, 22, but she and Chandler had been going together for seven whole years and married a year ago. Bindi was great on "Dancing With the Stars" and won it at age 17. I liked seeing that on YouTube. Little chick could dance her tushie off. Check it out. I'm praying a snake or crocodille doesn't bite her or her mom, hubby or brother. They're playing with fire sometime--but not to the extent her Daddy did--they're a little more careful than he was, thank Goddess
Their Australia Zoo is all open habitat and is a beautiful place and they have a huge animal hospital there, too. They're crazy about animals, but I don't see any domestic cats there...it's as if they're not into kitty cats (sobs)...though she does have a little pet dog.
Bindi and Chandler (he used to be a big wakeboarder and skate boarder star, in the U.S., he's from Florida) might have a reality show about her "pregnancy journey." They film everything--might even have filmed the conception, LOL (yikes!)--

Adele was all gussied up cavorting, looking "gone troppo" for a Jamaican Carnival in Notting Hill with the colorful exotic outfit with bare tummy and ethnic hairstyle. Prancing and grinning. Some wags complained she'd done "cultural appropriation." Some Jamaicans though said it's fine with them and she was just wanting to show off her big weight loss in the skimpy costume. I remember seeing Katy Perry hugely pregnant in an African looking ensemble with turban on American Idol one night, last season; no one trolled on her on it. Adele obviously had some kind of gastric weight loss operation, but pretends it's all exercise and dieting. You could tout weight loss surgery influencing someone to have it and they could die from it. So no star really admits or suggests that. I wonder why Adele didn't have it a long time ago. She obviously enjoys being much lighter. Some observers opined her face looked more beautiful when it wasn't as thin.

Kid Rock and Loretta Lynn have gotten "married," LoL. "They adore each other," her granddaughter revealed.

Machine Gun Kelly told Howard Stern he and Meghan Fox "fell in love at first sight" and before that, he hadn't known romantic love was really possible, something like that. That's very romantic. It's cool he likes chicks with dark hair.

Elton John has a new doll of himself costumed as in his famous Dodger Stadium concerts from 45 years ago.
Bruce Springsteen has a new album "Letters Sent" in which all the vocals are first takes. He said he will move to Ireland if Trump wins again
Madonna is co-writing a screenplay of her life with Diablo Cody.
