Paul McCartney 2014 Rumors

I don't think they'd cancel this far in advance - if its a health thing the situation can change on a daily and sometimes hourly basis!

Seeing as Paul has a tendency to wait until the last possible minute before he cancels a show I'm not sure if no news is good news. Basically, I don't take anything for granted until Brian and Rusty post on their twitter that they're in England rehearsing.
I agree. They will wait as long as possible.
It's June 6 and all the TV programming reliving D-Day and the massive logistics involved makes me wonder, what must be the "drop dead" that precedes the opening concert on June 14? In other words, how far in advance do the logistics for that opening night have to hit the road in order to show up in Texas to start setting up stage, soundboard, speakers, etc. Something like next Wednesday, June 11, maybe? That's the date by which some type of announcement will have to come out if it is indeed the bad news of a cancellation.
-
Depending on what the health issue was, doctors could know whether he should cancel or not. If it was a virus, and have no doubt that it was, he should hopefully be fine.

His first US concert is nine days away. Can we assume the tour is going on as planned?
Yes. He's been back home hasn't he? I would expect news of a rehearsal to crop up in the week to come. There's no way he'll jump back onstage and sing for the first time since being hospitalized in front of 20,000 Texans.
More like 12,000. United Spirit Center is a 15,000 seat arena, and with the staging and all, in the end it will be about 12,000. Unless people are seated behind the stage, which is unlikely.

If there are concerts in november/december (wherever those may be), when should they be announced, based on previous years? Early october?
Yes, usually early October, but the mini Christmas gigs in 2010 were announced in early December.

Maybe someone out that way would be kind enough to keep an eye open on the venue for a flurry of activity. By now I should hope that it would be Paul's own decision if he can continue on & not the doctor's orders. Let's hope he feels strong enough to perform for 3 hours.

If he were still sick, we would know by now. No, he's gonna show up in Lubbock and kick ass next week! That's my rumor!

Thanks. I suppose that's when we will hear more news, no matter where he will tour.

I really don?t understand why he has not shown up in public at all. The first show of the next tour is less than a week away. I really think he should appear in public and tell the whole world about his ------, well anything will do as long as we can see his face.
-
Did Adele sing a song on a local morning-news show prior to her Grammys performance, following her vocal surgery?

Most likely, Paul is doing what his doctor advised him to do...rest. With a new tour less than a week away he should get as much rest now as possible.

He has shown up in public? Not sure why you say he hasn't.

More rumors of shows in Brazil... the nation's capital (Brasília) was mentioned, along with a city in the Amazon region called Manaus, both of which have new stadiums for the Soccer Cup. A third state was mentioned, but as it sounds absurd I'll ignore it for the moment.

He has been photographed in London. There is no reason for him to a make any statement concerning his health, that is a private matter. This is his time with Bea, he is always very private during those weeks. I wouldn't expect to see or hear anything. RamblinRed

She may have. I think she did some type of show. Why?
-
It was my understanding that her Grammy performance was her first public-singing appearance since her vocal-cord surgery -- and everybody was on pins n' needles, wondering if she still had her voice. There was a major anticipation in the air. And it proved to be a triumphant moment for her. The point I was trying to make was that it would make show-business sense for Macca to let the first night of the new leg of the tour answer all questions regarding his health.

I swore I saw her perform somewhere so I went looking around. Didn't find what I was looking for BUT check this out... Adele is on the road to recovery after her recent throat surgery. The British singer posted a note to fans on Monday in which she gave them an update on the procedure to remove a benign polyp from her vocal cords. ?Sorry I haven?t written for a while. Thank you for all your positive thoughts and get well wishes,? she wrote. ?I?m doing really well, on the mend, super happy, relaxed and very positive with it all. The operation was a success and I?m just chilling out now until I get the all clear from my doctors.?

Oh, I did not know about his photo session. Then no news is good news I guess. Sincerely, Koichi

One of the reasons many people are concerned is because they've spent hundreds of dollars on tickets and travel arrangements, and possibly taken time off from work as well to attend the upcoming shows (I have a friend in Seattle who's supposed to see him in New Orleans.) If Paul is currently feeling great and has every intention of going ahead with the tour, how hard is it for his team to post a quick note on his website confirming that the US leg of the tour is still on? It has nothing to do with wishing to violate Paul's privacy, it's just common sense and common courtesy, IMO. I've noticed that Paul's band members have been unusually quiet as well, they're usually pretty chatty with fans on twitter about upcoming shows, the set list, looking forward to seeing new places etc. Surely, they must have been inundated with questions about Paul and the tour in the past week but...nothing. If Paul is still recovering and hasn't made a decision about what to do about the tour then that is one thing and it's probably wise not to say anything. But if everything is back to normal it's just odd that everyone is being so secretive. With Adele and her return to the stage her fans weren't paying huge amounts of money to see her at the Grammy's, so that's different.
-
I don't get that anyone is being secretive. Paul was photographed when he came back to London and Stuart Bell said he was doing fine in the newsletter. How many more updates do people need? This is Paul's private time - he is not going to be putting out bulletins about how or what he is doing.Paul almost certainly intended to be photographed when he took the walk in London, and having given the press and fans what they wanted, went somewhere that the paps aren't.I think you can assume that the tour is going ahead as planned.
