Paul McCartney 2014 Rumors

They say it's impossible not to get laid during Carnival in Brazil!
Ha ha! Food for thought!

There was a rumour he contracted the illness on his tour in South America and that the symptoms only started showing a couple of weeks later in Japan. If that's true maybe he should stay away from South America for a while?

I don't believe that. He showed up at Tokyo Airport well enough, waving and smiling with the robot. Maybe he should stay away from Asia, where he got sick!

Exactly!

Just got the email that my Pittsburgh tickets have been dispatched. So does this mean the concert is definite? No chance of cancellation?

I think the other tickets had already gone out. It's a wait & see game I suppose.

Nothing wrong with being cautiously optimistic! He should be fine for the July dates.

Just a little nervous about getting the hotel room in advance.

Try to get one that permits cancellation.
-
I just did. I think I'll go with it. It's $55 more if I don't pay the entire reservation in advance, but if I do have to cancel, I won't be out any money at all.
-
As someone already said, it is ALWAYS a risk to travel for a concert or any event. Anything can happen to cause a postponement or cancellation. It is a risk you take.
-
Oh, definitely! But I'm traveling several places this summer, so if I have the option to cancel and not be out a large sum of money, I'd prefer that.

I already have my hotel reservations for August/Candlestick Park concert, and luckily they allow cancellations up to 24 hours in advance.
-
For a concert, I never buy prepaid hotels to save money after being burned once on that one. Learned my lesson. I also buy insurance on the ticket and air fare in case something happens.
-
Three weeks until the opener! Albany will have a blast.

People on this board are always so hard on Paul for telling the same stories and using the same on-stage banter. Well apparently Paul is far from alone in this. Take a look at this story in the Guardian: http://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog/2014/jun/16/music-onstage-speaking-johnny-borrell-bruce-springsteen The column points out that during Springsteen concerts, much of what Bruce says is scripted -- that moments that seem entirely spontaneous are, in fact, scripted and happen from show to show to show.
... Bruce Springsteen?s sweaty, throb-necked preaching during Light Of Day and other songs ... is designed to cut through the normal verse-chorus-verse-OOH-I-KNOW-THIS-ONE patterns of a live show and check, as Bruce puts it, if ?there?s anybody alive out there." And yet, it?s still a scripted part of the show. ... Even when Bruce is vibing on MTV Unplugged, his exhortations are so scripted he even points at the correct camera (almost) right on cue.
Apparently they all do it: Paul, Bruce Springsteen, Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus (?). The only one whose digressions and stories aren't scripted is Kanye's 10-minute rants. S0 perhaps we all need to cut Paul some slack, so to speak, on this point.

Customers must be returning tickets to the concerts that were rescheduled, Ticketmaster is coming up with seats that have not been previously available, especially with the packages. If anybody is still looking for tickets give it a shot.

This could turn out to be a real win win situation for people who could not get tickets before but still want to go.

Not surprising, particularly for people traveling from some distance. Sometimes people have obligations that can't be changed. Good time to grab tickets if you were having trouble getting seats before!

Depends on the particular song. Yes, some of Bruce's stage patter is the same each time he performs that particular song during a tour. But what he does do differently than Paul is change his setlists every night. You will never see the same Springsteen show twice. He often will change his setlist mid-show, just deciding on the fly to do a particular song, or he'll take sign requests from fans in the audience and change his shows up that way. I don't expect Paul to ever perform in the same way that Bruce does, and while it would be nice to go to multiple Paul shows and hear different songs each time, I know it's not Paul's style. This summer, I *am hoping to get something different with the NEW songs, but that's my only expectation. I am mainly just looking forward to more live Macca!
