The ZZ Top / Guns n' Roses concert at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas was EXCELLENT! I'm waiting for the pictures from my friend, hopefully he still has them and didn't delete them.

Currently travelling around USA and managed to catch Billy Joel's show at Citizens Bank Park Philadelphia on saturday, from the previous time i'd seen him there were quite a few changes, one of them a superb version of 'A Day in the Life' Billy's guitarist sang the mid section aka Pauls part but it sounded so close to the original even with the piano bong at the end. Also he did Captain Jack which i certainly wasnt expecting, amazing!! Going again at end of month to his MSG show Setlist was; We didnt start the fire My life Everybody loves you now Summer Highland Falls ( choice over (Just the way you are') Zanzibar ( choice over Big man on Mulberry Street) Vienna ( choice over Honesty) The Entertainer Say Goodbye to Hollywood Don't ask me why A Day in the life Movin Out She's always a woman Allentown New York State of Mind Sometimes a Fantasy Captain Jack ( choice over ballad of billy the kid) River of Dreams ( with take it easy interlude) Nessun dorma Scenes from an italian restaurant Piano Man Uptown Girl Its still rock n roll to me Big shot Only the good die young You may be right

Dave Davies (New Hope PA) - Another first for me great show in a cool venue Little Steven & The Disciples Of Soul (Asbury Park NJ) - Waited my whole life to see this and it was worth the wait (Bruuuuce even appeared for the cherry on top) Gene Simmons & his solo band (Philadelphia PA) Excellent intimate show Paul McCartney (Newark NJ) about 15 minutes from where I saw him last year

Got home about an hour ago from a Denny Laine concert in Duluth, GA (a much smaller venue than Paul played in Duluth!)
Steve Holley was not there though! The Cryers had a different drummer. -

Saw the Chris Hillman concert last night in Edwardsville, IL. Great show. Tom Petty produced his new album. Herb Pedersen and John Jorgenson are his bandmates on this tour. Did a version of Eight Miles High: two guitars and a mandolin. Three extraordinary musicians.

Getting busy for the rest of the year and certainly next year, just got tickets for Billy Joel in Manchester next June so really looking forward to that one and counting down the day to seeing Little Steven in November,but thankfully my gig drought ends on Tuesday with the pretenders

Saw Little Steven and the disciples of soul the other what a show, grooved all night,Steven in fine form and that band is tremendous the texture of sound was amazing, he genuinely seemed buzzed at playing at the cavern, made it a long day but worth it to be honest. Gig of the year for me a long time since I've just gone and lost myself in the music, shame the punters behind me couldn't stop talking but there you go, if you the chance go and see them its a night you won't forget in a hurry.
