peter murphy of bauhaus tonight!

I've now seen Elton John at the Million Dollar Piano Show at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. I truly enjoyed this concert. I've seen a lot of Elton and this one ranked up there with the best. Elton poked some fun at his former self and all the wacky outfits while keeping with the decorum he now has when he performs. Apparently, you can buy your way on stage with the Elton Experience when he appears at Caesar's. All of a sudden, people were rushing on to the stage from the floor. All the details were gone from his website by the time I looked and it doesn't show up for any of his current tour. The people got to stay for one song. Not close enough to touch Elton, but close enough to touch the piano. Some were really in to it and some could have cared less and returned to their seats.

Sounds like a (expensive) dream come true! I've got less than a month till I wrap up 2013 with Sir Elton at the Verizon Center...one of the first dates on The Diving Board Tour. It'll be my third time with Elton, but my first time with JUST Elton...w/ Billy Joel in '09...w/ Leon Russell in '11...

I have The Electric Soft Parade tonight in Shepherds Bush. Their new album, "Idiots", is absolutely wonderful. On Saturday, I'm seeing The Boomtown Rats at the Camden Roundhouse.
-
The Who have said they plan to stop touring after a 50th Anniversary blow-out tour in 2015. I did catch the Quadrophenia tour but I'd love to catch this 'finale' too.

That sounds very good. I'd love to see this as I've missed the 2008 + 2012 stops by the band in my area. It's probably a good idea they stop after that too, things are getting rough according to the videos I've seen...

Yea after seeing them this summer on the Quadrophenia tour i would without a doubt go and see them again

As long as the tickets aren't too extortionate, I think I'd like to see The Who before they bow out of live performances. They're not the group they once were, but it'd be nice to see Daltrey & Townsend just the once. Looking forward to seeing Bob Geldof and co tomorrow night. The Boomtown Rats are a most underrated band. Electric Soft Parade were excellent the other night, too.

I saw John Fogerty in Dallas on the 18th of Oct. I know it was a few days ago, but I've been busy moving to Korea. I tried to get tickets to one of Paul's Japan shows, but I'm not allowed to leave the peninsula. I'm in the air force btw. Anyways the John Fogerty show was (that overused word) awesome. It really was awe inspiring though. I got tickets for my parents, my brother and myself, they were good seats too! 12th row! We had a blast. It was one of the last nights I spent with them because I had to depart on the 21st. IT ROCKED!..... and then he started "Long As I Can See The Light". It really hit home. I did not expect it. The friggin' song is about leaving your home. I just closed my eyes and held my mom. Not as emotional as one of Paul's shows, but it was still very meaningful.

That's spectacular Nigel! I wanted to see Fogerty here in Baltimore next week but then Elton's tour was announced and well...I prioritized! Thank you for all that you do, and best of luck on your travels and future endeavors! Safe wishes!

the danny elfan orchestra was amazing last night (tim buton scores) we got dalled up in our morbid outfits and everything : ) we got up graded seats as well which was a blessing at that they played scores from alice in wonderland, beetle juice, corpes bride, sleepy hallow, batman etc. then danny elfman came out and sang jack skeleton songs from the nightmare before xmas .and catherine o hara came out and did her sally song which was a surpise treat. standing ovations were made. we had a great time : ) happy halloween to us : )
-
Very very cool! Billy Joel is playing Barclays Center in NYC on new years eve...wish I could go!!!
-
On Halloween I saw Johnny Marr play at the House of Blues at Downtown Disney. Great, great, great show. He had a fantastic band behind him and his voice was in fine form. It was also his 50th birthday so everyone sang 'Happy Birthday', and there was marriage proposal right before Marr played 'There Is a Light That Never Goes Out'. Highly recommend seeing him if anyone gets the chance.
-
Tomorrow I'm off to see Billy Joel, then other concerts coming up in November include KT Tunstall, My Life Story, The Kast-Off Kinks (with a chance that Ray may turn up), Hugh Cornwell, David Ford and The Fratellis.
-
Nice one ARC, Marr is the man! I love The Kinks, which show might Ray turn up at?
-
Let us know how Billy Joel is! We've got a thread going for him too... Hoping he makes his way closer to my area in 2014. He's got two dates in FL so far...and NYC on New Years Eve of course... Paul Simon & Sting are doing a joint Arena tour this March...but I think I'll pass. I can just begin to imagine how over-priced that one is gonna be...
-
And so onto Bryan Ferry, great night,he was on fine form great set list and sounded in fine fettle a really enjoyable night, and boy for a man who's 68 he looks wonderful.

Just found out about Billy Joel - not sure how I missed the news! Have never seen him so will see if anything's left in the general sale tomorrow morning (but am not hopeful!). But he's definitely on the "bucket list" so hope I can grab something. Fwiw, I'll be moving out of NYC within the next 18 months so have literally been breaking the bank to cram in as many shows as possible while they're still accessible - while Asheville, NC has become a very happening spot over the last few years, there's no way all these folks will be rolling through! This feels obscene typing it to be honest... Upcoming shows: The Eagles - tonight! Sinead O'Connor - tomorrow Alison Moyet - 11/14 Van Morrison - 11/25 Patti Smith - 12/27 Neil Young - 1/9 Paul Simon & Sting (yes I did ops: ) - 3/4 Ennio Morricone (famed film composer/conductor - 3/23

The Eagles announced another show near me in March...but I just cannot see the value in those prices. The cheap seat is $70! It's more than Paul's cheap seat!
-
Yes the eagles are on tour near me,but they're pricy, very pricy seriously not sure if i can justify the expense to be honest.
