Concerts.

I saw Rod twice last year he was in great voice thats for sure.
-
I have planned to see Sir Elton John for 3 months and have tickets and really wanted to see his concerts, but I won't be able to make the trips afterall. Too much stress of moving, etc... I know in the big scheme of things of the world of wars and starvation and such it is nothing. But to me these concerts were a bright ray of happiness and renewal. Oh well...

I'm sorry to hear that! Can't even do one? Oh well....I know you've seen him before and I'm certain he will be performing for many years to come I'm gonna have to pass on the Rod Stewart/Santana tour....every ticket is over $100 except for the top tier of the arena which is where I was last time....he has a great show, but if I'm gonna see it again I want to be closer but not for those prices! Yeesh! Still waiting on Ringo's tix to go on sale for wolf trap....still trying to talk my dad into Motley Crue/Alice Cooper

^^ thanks for the well wishes. I am trying, but I know I'll miss Dallas, Tx. next week cause of the possible problems weather wise. If I go to that one I might miss the others following it. Going to see the Million Dollar Piano movie anyway. Good Luck with your concerts!
-
Neil Finn is next... Couldn't find someone to go to the Moodies, so had to cancel as it was a two ticket deal
-
^^ I am going to all but one of the EJ concerts by myself. I don't mind. I am fearless. I just want to see and hear him. When you become one with the music, it is like no one else is there with you. Last year after attending one concert, which I won tickets to go, I was so renewed and had a positive vibe that took me through the whole year. So I am hoping this will renew my thinking and life so I can begin a new life. It is the last fun thing I might get to do for awhile.

So my gig calender started with Ellie Goulding, really really good had a great evening, the lass can sing and thankfully very little in the way of costume changes and she did the "robot" while encouraging the rest of the arena to dance their socks off,yea i had a great night.

WixRocks!:
Another concert on the lookout for me....hoping to get tix next Friday, but we'll see....Rod Stewart & Santana @ Verizon Center in August
I'm going to this one! I've never seen either one in concert, and it's also an excuse to spend a fun day in Washington, D.C. going to museums, a nice dinner and then the concert.

That will definitely be a fun day! I've seen both of them and a double bill like that should be fantastic!

Last night I saw Elton John and his band in Birmingham, Al. His "Follow he Yellow Brick Road" tour. Oh, it was so wonderful. Elton had on this great new jacket. It is black and gold and all kinds of colors and has the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album cover design on the back. His voice was so clear and amazing. The piano was out of this world, I mean at one point I thought I was time travelling back in time to Jerry Lee Lewis/Elton John, with "Your Sister Can't Twist (But She Can Rock and Roll.") The band was outstanding! The whole bunch of them are so tight and sound awesome. At one point Elton hopped up on the piano. Then the chandelier! It is so groovy, I just can't describe enough about it. You have to see it yourself. Anyway, if you dig Elton go see this if you can it is CRAZY!

Yes! Superb....same set up I saw in November. Glad you made it! KISS and Def Leppard will be touring this summer....also coming to Jiffy Lube Live....but I am just not feeling that drive. Giving up on Crue/Cooper too. It's like all the promoters seem to have forgotten the Baltimore area exists this year!! :

Yeah it was great! I also went to the EJ concert in Pensacola, Fl on the 16th of March. Elton and Band were in fine form as the night before. Elton was attired in his Madman Across the Water ensemble with a blue shirt. (the previous night his shirt had been red.) The only difference I noticed was that the acoustics of the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center were better than the Pensacola Bay Auditorium, not by much, but you could tell if you listened real hard. I could watch that chandelier for eternity. It is so amazing. I can't decide what to do, to watch Elton, the Band, the chandelier, or the cool videos on the screen behind the stage. I try to do all four at the same time! My next concert will be Elton in New Orleans tomorrow night. Oh, and I went to see The Million Dollar Piano movie on Tuesday. It was so cool. But I must say that imo, Elton's voice sounds better now than it did in the movie. I think the concert for that movie was filmed in like 2012 or so? I loved it. Wish I could see him in Vegas.

Glad your plans are working out! Wish I could do it! Elton has been in a good vocal form lately. I think he's been continuing to lower keys too. I doubt there's a single song in the set performed in the original key.

Stoked for Billy Joel

^^ Wix Rocks: I drove approx. 1,000 miles or so in 7 days to see EJ and Band! I went to 3 concerts in 7 days. It was something I have never done before, but wouldn't change it 4 the world. Got in from New Orleans and that concert was just as fabulous as the previous two. I have to mention that seeing concerts so close together you notice all kinds of things you would not notice if you just went to one. So many video delights, like the white an black Byzantine pattern I think it was with the song "Believe." The color combinations of the magickal chandelier with certain songs. I loved the part where Elton was all alone on the stage with approx. 6 bright spotlights on him and his piano and he first played "The One" and "Oceans Away." "Oceans Away" is in tribute to the WWI soldiers who gave their lives in that awful war, and all wars. I just think "Oceans Away" is my most favorite song now, "Home Again" was last week. It was just beautiful! And to see him all alone at the piano is priceless. Also I think I noticed that Elton plays the instrumental beginning of "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word." Then the tune morphs into "Rocketman." I had been wondering what that beginning tune that was, but now I think I know for sure. He was so gracious throughout the performance and thanked us all for coming out and spending our money to buy his tickets. He told us funny little anecdotes about his and Bernie's take on the songs, the way they were born, it was great. Elton was wearing his Madman Across The Water suit coat and blue shirt and ruby red slippers. SO handsome. I would have posted photos for all to see, but I had to choose between a cool new phone and seeing Elton. I think I made the right choice. Oh, and I made a huge observation that I don't think I would have fully seen if I had not been in the same space as Elton. Elton is a True Messenger Of Love. He is an Ambassador of Good Will and Peace and Equality. You can feel it from him. He is a truly amazing human being. Love to ALL!
