Terrific show from Billy Joel last night at Wembley Stadium, he was on stage for about 2 and a half hours, and the sound was faultless compared to when I went to Bruce Springsteen's gig there back in June. Got to hear 4 songs for the first time, and Billy let the audience pick on 5 of the songs, setlist was; Miami 2017 (Seen the lights go out on broadway) Prelude/Angry Young man Just the way you are ( audience choice over 'The Stranger') The Entertainer Zanzibar (audience choice over 'Big man on mulberry street) My Life- with 'Ode to joy and Rule Britannia snippets Vienna (audience choice over 'Summer Highland Falls) The Longest Time (audience choice over 'Say Goodbye to Hollywood') Movin Out (Anthony's Song) Leningrad (audience choice over 'And so it goes') Allentown New York state of mind With a little help from my friends (Snippet) Don't ask me why Sometimes a Fantasy Highway to Hell (sung by roadie) We didn't start the fire She's always a woman Keeping the Faith The River of Dreams/ A Hard Day's Night Nessun Dorma (sung by back up singer) Scenes from an Italian Restaurant Piano Man Encore: Uptown Girl It's still rock and roll to me Only the good die young You may be right

Glad you had a good gig! Was just announced today that Billy just had sinus surgery and is cancelling his Sept. Madison Square Garden show so he can recover.

Following on from an interview Paul and Ringo gave promoting 'The Beatles - The Touring Years' film, an open letter to the pair from Mark Davyd, the CEO & Founder of The Music Venue Trust (a registered charity) has published regarding the continued loss of live music venues throughout the UK http://musicvenuetrust.com/2016/09/open-letter-sir-paul-mccartney-ringo-starr-mbe/ More information about the trust can be found here: http://musicvenuetrust.com/

Interesting, thanks for the link. Agree that the old venues are worth saving. They won't be getting Ringo for their Roundhouse gig, however, since he is touring the US that week and I think has a concert booked for the same night.

Haven't posted on this thread in a while, but I rounded out my 2016 concerts last night! It was an incredible year for Brits & The Beach!...pure 60's! 2/17- Mike Love & Bruce Johnston's Beach Boys- The Lyric Opera House 3/24- The Who- Verizon Center 6/24- Happy Together Tour- American Music Theatre (Turtles, Chuck Negron, Mark Lindsay, Gary Puckett, The Cowsills, Billy J. Kramer) 7/12- Paul McCartney (#10)- Citizens Bank Park 7/19- Mike Love & Bruce Johnston's Beach Boys w/ The National Symphony Orchestra- The Kennedy Center 8/9- Paul McCartney (#11)- Verizon Center 8/10- Paul McCartney (#12)- Verizon Center 8/23- Brian Wilson & Al Jardine- The Hippodrome 9/20- Brian Wilson & Al Jardine- The Hippodrome Sir Paul at Citizens Bank Park was probably the best in terms of seats (12th row center) and the concert itself...but every single show this year was incredible in its own right. Three times with Sir Paul was an absolute blessing. Four different Beach Boys shows and completing my autograph set with Mr. Brian Wilson was amazing. The weakest show was probably The Who simply because their voices are gone...I know we rant about Sir Paul on here, but listen to Roger & Pete try and sing these days and you'll see how lucky we have it... Here's to 2017!...

2016 will go down as the year of buying tickets to shows that I wound up not going to for one reason or another so clearly my concert goin' days are on the down side at least in terms of quantity I am pretty sure I am done for this year and in the end I am very happy with my shows for 2016 David Gilmour New York NY Jewel Morristown NJ (w/ Meet and Greet) Paul McCartney East Rutherford NJ Brian Wilson Gilford NH (w/ Meet and Greet) Cat Stevens Philadelphia PA Jeff Lynne New York NY Andy Fairweather Low And The Low Riders New Hope PA First timers for me Dave Gilmour, Yusuf/Cat Stevens, Jeff Lynne, Andy Fairweather Low. Plus some old faves like Paul and Brian and my first time seeing Jewel since 1997 Strangely enough Cat/Jeff/Andy were three nights in a row (felt like the old days when I was younger) ELO hands down best show of the year for me, I had tickets to see them at Irving Plaza last year but couldn't attend so I made darn sure I was at Radio City this year. Jeff and co lived up to my expectations and then some Also had to the pleasure of spending time with Andy Fairweather Low and the Low Riders after their show in PA. Spent about 45 minutes talking to Andy about various subjects including Clapton shows, touring with George in Japan, his visits to Friar Park, and of course Concert for George (Low Rider member Dave Bronze also played at CFG) so I had a blast hanging with them and getting to hear their side of those events. So to sum up not a big year quantity wise but every show was great and had some good experiences at the shows so quality over quantity
