If you also like Cher, we will know you are gay!
fail lol I don't like Cher at all.... I don't like her singing... I guess I don't have to question my sexuality now... I still must solve the mystery of me sounding like Dolly Parton if I was female. Maybe I would have looked as Dolly Parton if I would have been a woman. lol I guess I'll research like who would some male singers sound if they were women.
It took me a long, long time to realize just what a tremendous vocal talent Cher is. And she has a very respectable catalog of music.
I'm not gonna spent so many time listening to her... maybe I did I'll realize of something but, well... I can't even listen to this for more than some seconds CHER "THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD"
These are better examples:
anyway...
So, let me ask you this: Are you a better singer than Cher? (I'm not)
Cher is a mediocre singer to me. C'mon, another classic created by Paul being spoiled... SONNY & CHER "Got To Get You Into My Life'

I haven't answered your question. I think you are way better than Cher, only you don't realize as she may be one of your idols or so... As for me... well... if I get myself into a strange uncomfortable posture while playing piano, I don't do any warm up, start smoking, don't get no sleep, singing without any technique and without not being able to hear myself, having a cold, and a bad day... she's still be worse than me. I even sing I Got You Babe better than her. "I've got flowers... in the spring..."

I only like Cher from the mid-'80s on... not a fan of her t.v. music years. Her '70s disco hit "Take Me Home" is among my guilty pleasures, though.

That's funny cause I like her in the '60's & '70's better. When did she do Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves? Yeah--1971.

Here is Cher doing Half-Breed: (great lyrics...so true.)
of course she is lip synching there, but there is another video where she is singing live...and she sounds great. I did not used to appreciate Cher until a few years ago. Love her outfit there. -

yes, that is the one I was talking about.
-
Tonic - Open Up Your Eyes (live, 2011):
(one of my fave tracks from the '90s and they still sound fantastic) -
I've re-named the thread to make it more inclusive for all the great vocalists out there who may not necessarily ever be considered legends, etc.

There's an obscure rock/pop singer from the 70's who I think was in a band called Wings that's quite good, can't quite remember his name though. :
You mean this guy? Great set o' pipes, he's got:
yes, he's Stella McCartney's dad!

k.d. lang - You're On A Roll-Keep 'Em Coming (live @ Montreal 2012): -
Aerosmith - Just Push Play (live @ Tokyo 2002):

One more from k.d. lang's Montreal concert. She's in her 50s now, and she is a living example of the benefits of taking pristine care of one's voice. She hits notes that will blow you away here: k.d. lang - "Sugar Buzz" (live @ Montreal 2012):
-
Chaka Khan Live @ Poland 2012: (damn! she looks good!!!!)
-
Johnny Mathis - "99 Miles From L.A." (live @ London 12/10/2011):
(one of my all-time favorite songs) -
I had no idea that Art Garfunkel wrote that song.
