Everyone ( well almost everyone) know about this but I found there was no forum about it, so I decided to make somewhere for us to discuss it. Let the discussion begin! was it a good idea for the rolling stones to come to Adelaide? as far as I can rember, they are only coming to Adelaide for one gig. and only Adelaide... Will follow up on that in a second. second question, will this encourage Paul and other artists to come to Adelaide again? To be honest, I think if it goes well, it might. if not (which find to be really really unlikely....I haven't checked the prices yet) Will ask a couple more things later, going to do a little bit more research

I would think the Stones have the touring bug again and i suspect they'll add more dates in due course.

I didn't think Adelaide was anywhere near as big as Sydney and Melbourne--it must be a lot larger than I thought, if the Stones might play there. I'll "google image" search the place. When I google image searched White Plains, N.Y., where I've lived before, looks like pix of NYC were interspersed with White Plains I don't remember tons of skyscrapers there. Anyway that's cool y'all might get to see the Stones. I remember when the Stones surprisingly played Durham, N.C., a small city--they did 'cause of Duke University, I think--all the students

1.2 million live here? : didn't actually know that, I thought it was more like 700,000 or something. I guess that's another good enough reason for them to come as well

I've seen the amusing Aussie movie "Priscilla: Queen of the Desert" movie several times, and when the guys stopped off their bus trip in Adelaide the movie made Adelaide appear to be just a quaint smallish town which explains my surprise it's actually a big city.

The Beatles played Adelaide on their 1964 World Tour.

And broke records in this not so little place. Over a third of the city went to go see them... Just from outside of the place they were staying. Not sure how many lived in Adelaide before but if it was now, that's over 400,000 people just standing in the streets. THAT'S CRAZY

The Stones prices are ridiculous. That's the reason I didn't go. $150.00 USD for the cheap seats. It's outrageous. I wouldn't pay that for anybody. Even Paul (thankfully, he has never charged that much for regular concerts.). Hopefully, they're more reasonable Down Under.
