I haven't seen him since November 2005 before last night, so I did remember some stories... but the Blackbird guitar story was new (That millions have told him they've tried to learn it)... I agree about the songs. I've seen Let It Be enough, but when 60,000 people are watching with you and are excited about it, it makes for an experience no matter how many times you've heard it.

The ambiguity of that video notwithstanding, Paul's state-of-mind suggests that he thinks he's still a Beatle.
He was one, and he will always be, one of the four. He wrote or co-wrote all those songs. He has every right to sing them and people can go see him or they can choose not to. Last night about 50,000 people who chose to, witnessed one of the best shows he's ever done. Let's celebrate that, and not the hundreds of other songs he's written and recorded, but doesn't perform. We have the records and CDs, and we can listen to those. And we can marvel that we can still go and see him. Live. The best performer on the planet!

How was the CONCERT?
. ... ... I was surprised, tho, that Paul's special guests did not take the stage. We saw Joe Walsh and Jeff Lynne behind us a few rows but it seems they were there as spectators only. Paul's Hey Bulldog was great without their input. At the piano Paul dedicated My Valentine to his wife Nancy and The Long And Winding Road to Linda. I really enjoyed the graphics and videos from the Early Days!! !
He didn't do Early Days did he?
No
Funny...you can't be mentioning songs that he could have done...or we think you meant that he did them!
You are right! I meant the videos/film from days gone by. Very lovely to watch. And I mis-stated Hey Bulldog. I meant Helter Skelter. Now you have evidence that I am in my post-concert fog.

I'd like to apologize to the sign holders. In previous posts, I criticized you. However, last night, the sign holders didn't bug anyone. Here's what did. A lady brought her lap dog! Yep. You read that right. I hope that little guy didn't freak out too much. I do hope that he pooped in her purse. Also, if you're going bring your 5 year old. YOU NEED TO BRING EARPLUGS. Poor little girl was having fun at the beginning but later cringing and holding her ears because of the volume. Anyway, it was a great show.
I saw the lapdog too. Who does that? I was annoyed by this beyoutch in front of me who stood up and held her feckin cell phone over her head throughout Listen to What the Man Said as she tried to make a tiny grainy video. I tapped her on the shoulder, saying "excuse me, but if can't see when you are doing that." She totally ignored me. I tapped her again and asked her to please stop filming, as I couldn't see through her arms. Her bitchy friend turned around and told me "just stop!" I was shocked. So rude. They are not supposed to even be filming, and when someone tells you that you are blocking their view? The guy next to her then says she is not even in her own seat. He found an usher and got her tossed the people who spend most of the concert trying to take pics or videos on their cells--do they even enjoy the concert at all? And someone needs to figure out how to more efficiently get people out of that stadium. That was just chaos.

Dodger Stadium was ridiculous yesterday. First of all, the will call situation was a joke. They had like 3 windows open and were giving people conflicting information regarding "where to go." They told me to go by the D parking lot to get my tickets (which was at the top by like reserve). They stopped me at the entrance because I had signs and the worker said that he needed to "check with his boss if signs were ok." And he blocked us from trying to get in by moving the table in front of us. Then like 5 minutes later he was like "signs are ok," and I was like "I know they are ok!" Then we had to walk down flights of stairs from reserve to field to access the floor, then had to go pretty much around the stadium to get onto the floor. Damn. It was so chaotic.

I'm pretty sure he dropped Another Day, and instead did Every Night...Anyone else seen the setlist? Nope, Another Day it was.

Agreed. The parking situation was ridiculous. It took me more than an hour to get out of the parking lot.

Dodger Stadium parking is notoriously slow. Comes with the package. We came out from the field near the hospitality tent and waited chatting with some peeps. Hoped to see Paul, but were told that no one would be coming out that way. At least the wait made it easier to exit the lot. Never saw any other fans waiting to see Paul off.

Good grief on the lapdog. How did it even get in?

The show was awesome. I already knew the setlist but I still enjoyed it. The sound check was also nice. It was pretty loud & clear even listening from the outside. I recored couple of songs but I only share with my FB friends, sorry. Just like I always do, I never buy the ticket through the on line or someone else. I always buy it from the box office at the show. I know it's risky but I just simply don't want to pay the fees. Well I managed to get a floor seat which was sec B. It's not a best seat but at least I got in the field. Believe me, I wish I could see it at front but it seems impossible. Well, While everyone had a issue with parking & getting out after the show, I took a Dodger Stadium Express which left the Stadium at 11:30PM and arrived at Union Station at 11:50PM! It's pretty fast! I took some photos of the shows. They are not so great but if you still want to see them, here is. https://picasaweb.google.com/116751324549930992838/PaulMcCartenyLosAngelesOn81014

Nice photos, thanks for sharing. That looks like an awesome concert experience. Being up front is cool, but you can also miss stuff when you are real close. And with the riser in the front, even front row is not all that close.

Very nice pics. Looks like it was a great show.

Question for those who attended Dodger stadium concert - if you had field seats, which way did the seat numbers go as you faced the stage...right to left or left to right? Very curious to find out since they might set up Candlestick the same way.

Question for people who were at the show: A television station in San Diego reported Denny Siewell from Wings was on stage performing with Paul. Is this true? I did not see any mention of it in this thread. I have seen pictures of Denny backstage, but not on stage.

This show was amazing. Seeing Paul has been #1 on my bucket list for years, and finally seeing and hearing him perform my favorite songs in person was just surreal. I spent the first several songs thinking "I can't believe this is actually happening!" One of many standout moments for me was when the entire stadium lit up during Let It Be, and Paul responded afterwards by saying, "Thanks for the lights." I was already excited just to hear the song live, but seeing the beautiful lights on top of that took my breath away. It occurs to me now that this probably happens at all of his shows, but I love that Paul still commented on it anyway. I didn't make it to the Hollywood Bowl shows in 2010 (found out about them after tickets had sold out), and I've regretted it for years up until this show. Looking forward to San Diego next!

After being a fanatical listener of most things Beatles since age 3, I attended a McCartney show for the very first time, at Dodger Stadium. I had been putting it off for almost 20 years and finally caved in for the historic show. A great performance, crowd, setting, and "super moon." His live albums/DVD's of the last 20+ years lack the energy and grit of the Dodger Stadium performance. I'm in for all of his future L.A. show(s) and hope the next one is soon. He seems to visit Los Angeles every 4-5 years. Maybe (and sadly), I just witnessed his last performance in L.A.? Also, I did see a wealth of cameras. An official release?
