Stella McCartney OBE in New Year Honours List

Paul must be delighted to learn that Stella has been cited and awarded the Order Of The British Empire (OBE) in the New Years Honours List published this weekend. I haven't been able to see the detailed citation outlining the reasons for the award yet. She's amongst a role of honorees dominated quite naturally by athletes and officials cited for their roles in the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20858353 Indeed while Stella deserves an award solely for her contribution to the growth and success in the British Fashion industry it may also include acknowledgement for her part in designing the Team GB Olympic and Paralympic competitors outfits. Paul, Nancy, Stella and the rest of the family were regularly seen at both the Olympic and Paralympic Games events cheering on the competitors. Well done Stella. Martin

It always amazes me that people dismiss the children of celebrities, even when those children have obvious talent. -
Stella is clearly a respected designer, benefiting from her deserved reputation -- not her last name. She could actually drop "McCartney" from her brand if she wanted, and people would still identify her and her work.

that's from the bubble butt line we made fun of during the flash mob show she did. it wouldn't be a bad dress except for the butt. and all the dresses in that show had them.
