As to the quality of music from Paul it certainly has dimished with the years. The attraction at the time was the youth rebellion set that liked the fact that grownups didn't like it. Other than that it was a little lame.
You made your point. Now get outta here. This is for Paul's fans, not for his bashers. Hmm. Maybe the fans should join a Bush-lovers-site (if there is one) and spam that site like the idiots do over here.
What gives you the right to say that Paul's fan's can't have a negative opinion about something he publicly said? I don't happen to think Paul owes an apology to anyone, but I do think that what he said was classless and reflected more negatively on him than it did on Bush. I despise George W. Bush and said plenty of negative things about him for 8 years. However, he hasn't been president now for 17 months so I'm trying to forget him. Nothing will undo what he did, but stop living in the past. I have posted many loving, wonderful messages to Paul on this board and on this thread. As a fan who has seen him in concert many, many times (including 9 in 2003 and 4 in 2005), I feel I have a right to give him constructive feedback on what he said. He wasn't making this statement to friends and family at dinner, he was saying it at a wonderful event in the White House, honoring his music talent. What did Bush have to do with that? This thread says it's for messages to Paul, it doesn't say only a certain kind messages to Paul. There are plenty of messages on this board that are very unkind regarding Paul's music. I don't like them and they make me cringe, but it's free speech my friends. Issues like this always, unfortunately, bring out the trolls too, but there are also true fans who don't appreciate what he said. Thank God we aren't all the same or it would be a boring old world. Paul, As a devoted fan of 33 years, I think that what you said was beneath you and wasn't a good choice of words. The press is having a field day with it and using it as an opportunity to say many unkind things. It doesn't matter to me how you feel about any U.S. President, but your comments lacked the decorum that you usually exhibit. I always feel that it's better to take the high road, than the cheap shot. Congratulations on the Gershwin Prize! Peace & Love, Dawn

Dear Paul, Please do not apologize for what you said at the White House. This is America. Land of Free Speech supposedly. Congrats on your Gershwin Prize. No one deserves it more than you. It was a privilege to see you again at the Hollywood Bowl on that chilly night of March 31st. You just keep getting better. Can't wait until next time. Love and Peace Always. Randy

KCNancy did you get your tickets : How cool he is coming to KC. I would so like for him to come back to St. Louis but I don't think he is going to. Anyway it's really great for you and all KC

Dear Paul, I am your fan, and I love your music. But, what I admire the most about you is your dedication to the environment and the plight of poor, defenseless animals. This time, it is not an animal. It is a human being. A young, 14 year old Mexican boy who was shot down in cold blood by a border patrol agent. The agent claims that the boy was trying to cross illegally, but the boy had no mud on his shoes, and he lay in a pool of blood on Mexican soil. Could you please say something? Condolences to the family maybe. And, to the American people, all American people, white, black, brown, yellow, red, pink, beige, whatever, tell them to give PEACE a chance! Your fan, gorda
