"APPRECIATE" NEEDS TO BE A SINGLE! IT WOULD GET

Stunning.

I'm glad he finally put out a video, sorry clip, or whatever we call it these days, for this song. Still, it's about six months too late. I truly hope it gathers momentum and puts the song on the map. Was always one of my favourite songs from the album.

Remains to be seen what the strategy is going to be. After all the time and effort put into this video, it seems a waste to promote it only in Japan, especially when so many of us have insisted it would do well in the West. Of course, if he's going to have the robot onstage in Japan, it makes sense to put the video out now, regardless of what's happening with "Save Us" or even "Early Days." It's just strange that we've been teased about videos for the latter two, but we had no clue about a video for "Appreciate" until it came out!

that is what I was thinking! I expected videos to other songs but not this one I like the idea behind the song. How it's in the future and humans are in a museum because they are extinct, robots are the 'new humans'. For the video, itself, I thought it was OK. Paul looks fantastic in it.

Really great video!! I love when Paul gets creative like this and it was cool to watch him dance with the robot!! Love when Paul's creative genius juices are directed in this type of direction. I think this is one of his best videos!! Brilliant video... was just noticing his guitars and there was the very large guitar. That looks similar to an antique guitar from Rennaissance or Baroque times. I saw ones like those at a Vermeer exhibit. Maybe a four course guitar... not sure, don't know much about those instruments. Does anyone know what type of guitar that is? Great video, love this song and I'm going to go watch it again! Delightful!

Amazing video (and song)...love it! Have a feeling this is going to be the highlight of Pau'ls upcoming shows in Japan and the U.S. Wonder what happened with the "Early Days" video??
-
OMG the Appreciate video is AWESOME! Paul's creativity knows no bounds! It's fun watching over and over to catch all the little details going on. Not a boring moment! I love the song and love it even more with the video. It would be cool if Paul did a video for each song on New.

My thoughts exactly! The video is not quite as good as the idea. I think it's the scenes of the other people that feel a little forced. Paul and the robot are great!

I just got an email promoting the video.
That's funny. I haven't gotten anything and I regularly get announcments from pm.com.
Okay, I finally got the email a couple hours after I posted that! And I do really like the video, even though it's not my favorite song (I don't dislike it, I just don't love it).
Haha! I'm just now getting the email announcing the video!
Isn't that funny how far apart that we all received them? Mine came very late too.

It's funny to see the people dancing so hard dressed in 1940-50 type clothes. I had to laugh.

I wonder what the significance of 31-08-3116 is? Must be something! I doubt it's a random date.

There were a couple of Facebook posts on his page teasing that the video was coming on May 15, but you're right, there wasn't too much pre-promotion like there was with Queenie Eye.

I don't know but I don't like it. 31-8 is my mothers birthday. And I feel like I am someone that keeps getting reborn again. I am not supposed to be reborn out of my dominion see. The British do the dates different its 8-31.

Wow! What a fantastic video. This really surprised me. I think major kudos should be given to the director, Andre Chocron. It's superbly executed, well thought out, and sprinkled with nice touches of humour and charm. Honestly, if anyone here was told in advance that Paul was doing a video in which he was dancing with a robot, I'm sure 99% of everyone would be gagging on the idea. But Chocron pulled it off. I also thought it was very clever how the video combines the hipness of the futuristic world AND the hipness of the vintage/hipster scene. As to the song itself, I DO like the song (it's one of my faves off the album) but I'm reluctant to think that it's Major Hit material. The simplicity of it reminds me of Tomorrow Never Knows. I think it's fantastically produced and arranged, but I think the melody needs to be stronger or more developed.

Very, very cool video. As always, I go to my children, ages 22 and 20. They watched it this this morning to rave reviews. And these are two kids who listen to nothing but Metallica, Green Day, and Five Finger Death Punch. My daughter thought the Museum of Man idea was 'awesome to the maximum' (whatever that means, I think she liked it!)

I so wish that there was a video of this caliber for all the songs on NEW as well!!!

I agree. The part that made me laugh, though, was at the beginning when Paul was sitting there totally still and turns to look at the robot, imagine that? Standing there, thinking you are looking at a wax figure of Paul but then he turns to look at you! LOL loved that.

Really like the video! Very different and I like that.
