Hidden Tracks Off the NEW album how many are there?
-
I can say with certainty that Scared and Struggle are two different songs. As a Japanese bonus - there is a song that will not be available on any other edition. Japanese exclusives are mainly due to very expensive cost of imports into Japan. Bonus tracks are incentives to buy the album. Scared is tacked onto the end of Struggle.

[..] What I'm hearing is that on, let's say "unofficial" copies, the song marked as "Struggle" is actually "Scared" so that song appears twice. This is what is causing the confusion. "Struggle" is a song that's been described as something you could listen to at "ear-zinging volume," while "Scared" is tender and quiet. Haven't heard either one yet!
Exactly. Japanese CD just isn't 'out there' yet. The internet kiddies messed this one up big time, named the deluxe edition with two bonus tracks and one hidden track "Japanese version with 3 bonus tracks" and that's where the confusion lies. Oh, and, btw, from the deluxe edition booklet: "Together we finished more tracks than appear on the album. They will, no doubt, show up somewhere sooner or later". Here comes 'New(est)', the re-issued deluxe edition .
That quote from Paul is pretty bold, isn't it? He hasn't said that about the Geoff Emerick sessions from a few years ago, which produced only "(I Want To) Come Home" as a released track. I'm holding out for 'New(est)'!
He should call what you are holding out for "Knew", as in we all knew he was going to release a special expanded New a few months from now with an additional bonus track or two and a DVD. So here's waiting on Knew.

Expect another release either in the end of '14 or the spring of '15; I can see it being a release like MAF after C&C was released a year and a half before.

And here's a screenshot of iTunes Japan, for good measure:

Heck by the end of the month it'll be OUT THERE. Or at least the tracks you need.

From another board: Struggle lyrics: (Begins with mid-tempo, rhythmic harmonium, which drives the entire song, then joined by xylophone) (the vocals alternate between falsetto and non-falsetto throughout song) Want to get you in my heart again Want to love you once more Want to have you in my heart again Want to get you once more If you wanna love, if you wanna fight Doesn?t really matter, I want you tonight (short, American Indian-esque chanting interlude, drums kick in) When I get you home, what I wanna do Babe, I wanna sample(?) everything with you Yes, I wanna love you, I don?t wanna fight I can think of something when I get you home tonight All I want is loving, anything will do I?m your glass of poison and I?m acting up on you If you wanna love, if you wanna fight Doesn?t really matter, I want you tonight (repeats) (Spoken like a preacher, or a Martin Luther King, Jr. speech) Yeah, you know what you got here You got the same old story happening again The eternal struggle, the destiny of man It?s the same old story, it?s happening again Life?s eternal struggle, the destiny of man If you wanna love, if you wanna fight It doesn?t really matter, I want you tonight All I want is love, anything will do I?m your glass of poison and I?m acting up on you (Spoken like a preacher) It?s the same old song Being sung in the background, being sung up front But, if you wanna get it right, you gotta listen Heed my words, listen to me! (xylophone breakdown, with humming from Paul) Anytime you want me, I?m not hard to find I can?t get your loving, I can?t get you off my mind If I need you sometime, you got me here right now We can work it out together, we?ll get through this somehow (sung with Paul ?preaching? over the top of it for remainder of song) It?s the same old story, it?s happening again Life?s eternal struggle, the destiny of man (repeats a few times, then ends with the line ?Life?s eternal struggle? a-capell

Metal God: "another release" from your fingers typing to God's ears! I was just thinking today, hey I already want another new album from Macca, besides "New," is that crazy? Already wanting another? And then Metal God wrote that! (that Macca released MAF just a year and a half after "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard") No wonder Paul hid "Scared," the words are so vulnerable, needy and mushy, Good Lord. Too mushy. While "Struggle" seems more of a punk rock "love (or lust?)" song with certain almost verging on S and M lyrics, tinged a bit with tough rough love--from one sort of extreme to another, Scared to Struggle, unless I'm just cynical as hell tonight.

Hey, and then Electric Arguments was just a year and a half after MAF! We were spoiled for a while there.

Too right, Favorite, he's at the top of his game in many ways--it's all come together, natural brilliance, great talent, wealth of experience, his team's marketing savvy--he should be able to bless us with more one-two punches-- with marvelous astonishing follow up albums trotted out at a fairly brisk pace, even considering his meticulous perfectionism tendencies in the recording studio

Regular album ends with 'Road' and has an unlisted 'hidden track' called 'Scared'. Deluxe edition album ends with 'Road', then has two bonus tracks called 'Turned Out' and 'Get Me Out Of Here', then has an unlisted 'hidden track' called 'Scared'. The Japanese CD edition ends with 'Road', then has three bonus tracks called 'Turned Out', 'Get Me Out Of Here' and the exclusive 'Struggle', and then has an unlisted 'hidden track' called 'Scared'. 'Struggle' and 'Scared' are NOT the same songs.
I thought Secret Life Of A Party Girl was on the Japanese CD?

Just went over to iTunes Japan (where it is now Monday, release day there) and listened to the 90-second sample of "Struggle". It is most definitely not "Scared", which is described as a tender love song. "Struggle" is atmospheric, kind of Fireman-like (shades of "Pretty Little Head" too), but with a heavy keyboard riff, and lyrics that are more about sex than love, I would say! I think it's probably a stretch to call it Paul's greatest non-Beatles song ever, but sounds cool. OK, no more samples for me! I figured I'd listen to that one since I don't know when I'll actually get it. (If you want to know how to get there, go to the bottom of an iTunes store screen where it says "Change Country", click, and then scroll down to Asia. Don't forget to switch back when you're done, where the "change country" link is in the same place, but it's in Japanese!)

Just heard 'Struggle' in full (Japanese exclusive track), THE REAL one, nothing to do with 'Scared'. Sounds like another Fireman track, not bad¡
-
Woah 'Struggle' is something else! Incredible.

Suzy, I'll hafta disagree with you re: Scared--- the songs about vulnerability in loving someone-- it's not needy.. simply beautiful with Paul at the piano........
