actually I think it's smart...I don't think any sales will count until the album is released..not officially out so I doubt the pre-sales will count until it's released..
That's correct, but as I said a bunch of pages ago, I think it would be cool to have Paul get another #1 album. He literally has ZERO chance going up against THREE artists that all outsold MAF (his highest selling new studio disc in the soundscan era). Simply releasing this album earlier this year - during a slower weak - would have virtually guaranteed him another #1. The first week in August the #1 album didn't even sell 100k. The 3rd week, the #1 was 116k. Paul could have beaten either of those numbers.
Who exactly are you talking about? I see Pearl Jam as the biggest threat, and perhaps TLC (although the original "L" is dead), A$AP Mob, The Avett Brothers, Ryan Adams, Toad the Wet Sprocket?
According to hitsdailydouble.com, there are new albums by the following on 10/15: Mary J Blige (156k 1st wk sales on last album) Pearl Jam (189k) Scotty McCreery (197k) Mary's album is a Christmas disc, tho, so Paul might best that...

Assuming all this is true about tomorrow...... How come we haven't had an email from MPL to ensure we are all listening to the radio ???
-
I would expect an announcement tonight or if he does it like his tour announcements...5 minutes before the song is played!! LOL!!!

Yes, I think that typically Christmas albums don't sell that briskly right off the bat if they're released in October. Forgot about Scotty; that would be sad if Paul can't beat him after a six-year build-up. I suspect Paul (and his label) must be more interested just to be in the thick of the fall season, when people are more likely to see the TV appearances and so on. I would say there's still a glimmer of hope for #1.

I can't even find words to explain how excited I am for tomorrow!

It's just a hunch, but I also suspect that the quote from Paul from that Spanish article might be a lyric to the song. "We can do whatever we want, we can live as we choose" It SOUNDS like a song lyric. And "choose" rhymes with "news".
-
....why we do only have news in spain or latin media...i dont believe in tomorrows release
-
I suppose that these Spanish sources could possibly have got the title wrong and maybe it is "News" and not "New". I give up!

Not even with all the tweets? I certainly believe it.

I can imagine that, something like We can do whatever we want, we can live as we choose, But then at the end, we're yesterdays news. Bit like a Vintage Clothes type of thing

I am having fun with the clues.

OMFG IT'S UP IN THE ITUNES STORE UK
-
Just downloaded it off iTunes. Lovely tune, very catchy. Love Paul's voice on this one too. It's absolutely brilliant. The whole album is up for pre-order on iTunes in the UK right now. And judging by this lead single, I think we've really got something to look forward to here. Itching to hear the rest of the album!

Not out in the U.S. Probably midnight?

Here are the lyrics: Don?t look at me, it?s way too soon to see what?s gonna be. Don?t look at me. All my life, I never knew what I could be, what I could do, when we were new. Oooooooooooh You came along and made my life a song, One lucky day, you came along. Just in time, when I was searching for a ride, you came along, when we were new. Oooooooooooh We can do what we want We can live as we choose You see theres no guarantee Weve got nothing to lose Don?t look at me, don?t deny the truth, it?s plain to see don?t look at me. All my life, I never knew what I could be, what I could do, when we were new. Oooooooooooh

Lucky you! We can't listen it here in North America. So, the name of the song is?? 'Now'??
