Paul's upcoming album review they say its HOT!

Bob Gannon:
Although you could be right Harley, I believe it is about Nancy..let's face it, everytime you are in Love it always feels new at the start and you can try to explain why it works until your face turns blue but noone has ever really been able to explain what not only attracts two people together but what keeps them together. It's different with everyone. I would say it's more about Nancy since the releationship is not all that old and it is the current feeling of new love in his life. But the great thing about Paul's songs is that they usually mean different things to different people so in actuality...there is no wrong answer!!!
true!

Paul has said in interviews that "New" is about Nancy, but I don't think he would object to the interpretation about John, since it fits so well. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-23877060
thanks for the link as I have only heard one interview from when he called the Chicago station. That explains it. Really sweet imo. I am glad they found each other.

While "New" some distance from being a radio hit yet, the initial reception is surprisingly good. As of Friday it's #25 on the Mediabase AC chart and rising steadily:
Please understand, this is very far from the radio saturation that acts like Robin Thicke and Maroon 5 get on Top 40 stations. But it begins to seem plausible that between YouTube views, downloads and a growing trickle of radio play, this thing might just crack Billboard's Hot 100. It would be shocking if it charted terribly high, but it might at least make an appearance. -

How exciting!!! I'd imagine "Everybody Out There" would be the next single?

He mentioned this song some weeks ago to a DJ in Brazil, saying he expected to be playing it live, and that this song was part of how the tour got its name.

ALBUM A CLASSIC IN THE MACC-ING EXCLUSIVE FIRST LISTEN Paul McCartney' s latest album, titled New, is shaping up to be one of the best releases of the year. Bizzare has had a secret early listen to a handful of the songs from the record due for release on October 14. On Save us, Adeles right hand man Paul Epworth has worked his magic to make Macca sound like the strokes. The new wave track is a proper rock song with a fast paced vocal from the Beatles legend It's unmistakably Macca but there is also a bit of Epworths Adele collaboration rolling in the deep, and his work with bands like the rakes, the futureheads and bloc party in there. Save us is the kind of song that should be played by radio 1 and radio 2 and make a decent dent in the charts. Queenie eye is also an epworth production, but it makes more nods to sir Paul's past than save us. Fans will hear bits of band on the run, lady Madonna and sgt pepper in the mix. Everybody out there is another stand out from New. It is powered by acoustic guitar and has a middle section with a sing along crowd, it will sound brilliant live. The album also has a couple of stripped down songs that are collaborations with kings of Leon producer Ethan John's and other tracks made with Mark Ronson. From what I've heard so far Paul's decision to work with great young producers on his first original pop album in six years has paid off.

Thanks, darrel! Here's some more to indicate good things for the album. Billboard calls it one of the 52 Hottest Fall releases. http://www.billboard.com/articles/5679948/fall-music-preview-2013-the-52-hottest-albums Three other albums are shown among the hottest that are released that day, you may notice, but only Pearl Jam seems to be described in possibly more glowing terms. (TLC and The Avett Brothers, not so much.). They don't even mention Scotty McCreery (the American Idol guy), so perhaps he's not actually a threat? Either that, or he could debut big and flame out quickly, as many Idol singers' albums do. If you want to go straight to the page for Paul's album, it's here: http://www.billboard.com/articles/5680058/paul-mccartney-new-fall-music-preview-2013

Well, not anything with "urban" in the name, which is industry code for R&B/geared to a black audience. I suppose they think "urban" sounds more polite.

Are all these songs really brand "new" though or were some or all written nearly six years ago? They're still new to us though, course, as we've not heard any of these before. Remember when "Electric Arguments" came out Paul revealed he'd written "twenty new songs" at that time. Was that six years ago? Doesn't seem like it...maybe five?
