He's the cover story in this week's Parade magazine in my newspaper. The photo of Paul was from 2003. The caption is: "16 Things You Didn't Know." I thought.... I"I don't think so." Actually, there was one that I hadn't heard before. It was that the Paul and The Beatles read about Mick Jagger's singing style described as "Plastic Soul." Hmm..Paul and the others thought.....maybe we can name our album...."Rubber Soul." Not sure about this, but it was in the article.

I posted a photo on the 23rd of the cover above your post. I had heard that "Plastic Soul" story. What's funny is when I first saw the album Rubber Soul, I was 10. The title just seemed cool to me. I'm wondering why there was no objection from Capitol Records' "censorship" department due to the American slang of rubber for condom?

Sorry how I skipped right over....didn't see....your cover photo of Paul that I then mentioned. I guess I just always thought Rubber Soul was a pun of Soul music, in general, and maybe the sole of your shoe, or a rubber band...since the cover photo seemed to stretch. It all seemed very clever, and, somehow, a perfieict name for the album along with the terriific cover photo. It all just fit perfectly....all part of making it my favorite album. The whole condom/rubber thing....I should have thought about, but I guess I was too dense or whatever to even associate all that or make any kind of connection. I being a boy.....even a very young one.... should have thought of that or made some kind of connection right off the bat. I guess I wasn't an old enough boy....too young for the thought of sex to enter my mind...but even later it never crossed my mind....the name of the album relating to sex, I mean, not sex itself never crossing my mind!! Now I may not get that comparison out of my mind. lol But, yes, one wonders why Capitol Records didn't make that kind of connection. Now, none of that would even matter even slightly, but back then one imagines it would have.
