Sometimes it's kind of depressing to see Paul get older
-
It's a privilege to have the chance to get older, to not get struck down at an early age as so many have that I believe "the game" must be a lot bigger than we realize. They must be given another chance somehow, somewhere, to live out their lives and grow in wisdom and understanding, to figure out what it's all about and learn to love and see beyond themselves. Maybe reincarnation is true (got a funny feeling it might be), and we're all recycled souls in different bodies each go round...if so, I'm thrilled I was able to see Paul in his current and past guises, at all the various stages, I've loved looking at him now just as much as he was back then. He is a very appealing grown man and seems to appear more and more Irish with time. Which is kind of enthralling. Love me some Irish (laughs)

If i die and wake up here again I'd be very dissappointed to be honet. I don't believe in reincarnation. I don't want to believe in it. I'm not afraid of dying, I'd rather die quick and happy now at this moment than have to suffer and die slowly thirty years from now. I'm a good guy, either I go to heaven or there's nothing at all, just an empty void like the millions of years I did not exist before I was born to be a drop in the ocean and back to non existence again.

That's very nihilistic of you!

Seeing John shot at 40 and George wasted away with cancer at just 58. That's depressing!
-
Harrison talks about his own death in the end sequence of "Living in the Material World" documentary and he was at least not depressed because of it. I agree with his world view actually, that there is not so much to miss when you leave. But of course, I miss Harrison, and I never even met him.

It gets depressing to see me getting older to me! Apart from going totally blind, I suck it all in and blow it out.

amen, thats my sentiment, exactly! Growing old is a privilege denied to many. To have seen Ringo and Paul perform in 2014/15 is a real treat. I remember seeing the Rolling Stones in 1989 and thinking how old they looked. I looked at that very tour program from 89 earlier this year. WOW, amazing how young they looked then!

So many of my favorite artists goes back to the 60s. I hope they can continue to make music as long as I can continue to breathe. After that it's no big deal for me but a world without new records from Paul McCartney... Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, David Bowie ... Seems so empty.

At least we will have the music and videos to look back on for the rest of our lives.

I don't think Paul's voice has become that rough, especially for 73! Surely his vocals have changed over the years, but look at it as maturity and experience. He had to sing all his life to sound like he does today, and I think it's as beautiful as it has always been.

Geez...what are most on this board gonna do when fate hits? I'll get on with my life...the rest?

I already have got on with my life! Fate has arrived, to a point. But reading some posts, many are nowhere near capable of facing it.

Aren't we all getting older? I think Paul looks better than any 73 year old that I've seen here in this part of the East. He looks really great to me!!
Ringo looks just as great and is 75!
Ringo does look great, he does!
-
don't know why its depressing to some dont want him to become a recluse and hide away and just wait for god

Ringo and Paul both keep on truckin'. So happy to still be able to see them in concert for as long as they are willing to do it.

Getting older is a part of all of our lives. Just your body gets older, but that doesn't mean that inside you're older than a teenager, maybe even younger for some! Why should anyone at any age be expected to act in a certain "old "person" way?! and why surrender to the fun things you love to do? That's insane really. For those who get depressed, I say go and get medication...it's available at your doctors! For all the non depressed people, I say laugh it up, party hearty and dance like there's no tomorrow. Who cares what a bunch of "old foggies" think! Stay as far away from their depressing thoughts as you can!! The good thing about getting older, is that you should be caring less and less about what other people think of you!! Go Dancing In The Rain, like no one is watching!! Life is your personal journey to ENJOY!! And , , and to the spoil sports, of having fun and enjoying life as much as you can...even from a wheelchair if you need to... Don't ever ever give up on laughing and Live Life Like There Is No Tomorrow!!

I think I'll need at least one Xanax.

I think most of us will manage to get on with our lives, but not without a tear or two for a part of our youth that will be irrevocably gone when Paul and Ringo finally leave us.
-
As someone who was born in 1964 when the day comes around to Paul's demise, I will be immensely saddened, but I guess I'll just get on with my life as per normal, but with a slightly heavy heart for awhile! As Paul has been there all my life it will be a very peculiarly feeling when he's gone. At 51 years of age I guess there's always a chance that i might keel over before he does.
