Yes, looks like that's going to happen, according to WogBlog. And I'm sure there will be a larger tour that takes in North America and Europe, too, all of which could positively impact the sales of "New". But also, I'm remembering now that he has a couple of other projects supposedly coming that may steal a little attention away: There's that video game that Paul did music for, scheduled for the next month or two; and then there's the "V&M/Speed of Sound" archive reissues, which would probably be in May or June.

I don't think a tour will have a significant impact on the sales of NEW. By the time the supposed tour will start in April it will be six months too late, I really don't know what Paul is thinking. Not to mention that he will only end up performing three or four songs from NEW anyway, not enough to make an impact will all the Beatles songs that will dominate the set list.

Four songs is plenty if the audience likes them and the album is marketed to the tour audience -- four songs from "Chaos" were enough to keep it on the Billboard chart as long as the tour went on. And at the time the San Francisco Chronicle was publishing a Bay Area album chart which showed a major jump for the album when Paul played San Jose. But it's true that if he waits till late spring or summer the momentum will be pretty much gone and it will be harder to revive than if he'd toured in late fall/winter. Sigh...

I don't know how it works, but he has to do the shows like the album was just beinf released
-
NME will honour Paul with the award composer of the composers on february 25th
-
The new Billboard album chart is out and "New" is not on it, though lots of Beatles titles are there.

Not a surprise. Without a tour or TV, the thing is dead, sales-wise
-
With this tour on South America and this NME award the sales will raise up, but not exactly in United States, but if he is planning start touring, is good news, better late than never

I'm wondering how the album did in South America, since it's looking like Paul will be performing there this spring. I'm hoping that it sold very well, and maybe we'll get more live versions of more songs on the album.

Hey can someone please give some updated numbers on worldwide sales totals of the NEW album. I haven't seen any updated numbers in perhaps, oh say, six or seven weeks. As I recall, the last numbers I saw, NEW was closing in on around half a million units sold, worldwide. I'd like to see him break at least a million worldwide, which to me, is still pretty good. I am expecting, he will get a big bump from the tour beginning in South America. He is still huge in Latin America, he fills stadiums with 50-100 thousand people every time he goes down there. Also I would expect the European and USA Shows to help with sales also. I know Latin America is a poorer continent, but they love him there, and I wouldn't be surprised if he sold an extra 50-100 thousand copies just from the mania of him being down there for a week or two. So yeah anyone with update worldwide sales on NEW please post if you would be so kind.

I read an article on the radio-interview that Paul just did the other day, and -- to my shock -- the article said that NEW has sold 190,000 copies. That doesn't sound right -- especially when worldwide sales are factored in.

I think it meant sales in US only.
-
Pearl Jam sold about that many their first week.
-
New sold 67.000 in its first US week. So, I think that it´s about 190.000 so far because of the lack of promotion. He will be touring here in South America, but not in Brazil (so many fans here). This is help on sales. But not so much, because he has to target on US and Europe and have TV appearances and shows there.

Ok yeah so just under 200k so far, in the USA, but does anybody know the worldwide totals? I'm just curious, I'm sure the upcoming tour, in its entirety can help generate some new sales say 100-300 thousand easy, but does anybody know the current worldwide totals, I'm guessing just over half a million? thanks in advance
-
Billboard just reported this week that New sold 235,000 in the US in 2013.
-
I think that new has sold more than 300k so far in US so far. No tv shows, no tour, no new single, nothing to promote.

ok great, thanks, but much has New sold in the rest of the world. Making a guess based on what you have told us, I would make a ballpark guess at 600-700 thousand copies worldwide so far
