TOUR REHEARSALS: QUESTIONS
-
... and no.
-
None of them will ever see the light of day. The only one from MAF I could see him re-visiting is "Dance Tonight".
-
audi:
You've missed the point.
I get YOUR point. Perhaps my comment was more for the previous poster who suggested it to begin with.
-
I'll let him speak for himself, but I'm pretty sure that "Head" was offered wholly in jest.

Hmmmm... funny.
-
I could see him bumping up Got to Get You Into My Life as the opener.

His voice couldn't handle those leaps first thing in the set...it's hit or miss in its current rotational spot. Luckily it was "hit" in Charlottesville for me last summer!

This would make a great opener:
-
-
"Rockestra Theme" could be a really good opener, and he can connect it with "Jet" and play a medley.

I need vocals at the top of the show. I'd like it as an encore, though.

So gled to see you here/We're open tonight, this is the perfect opener!!!!

It won't happen now but I remember guessing that We're Open Tonight segued in to So Glad to See You Here would be the opening songs on the 1979 Back to the Egg tour. Similar (perhaps too much so) feel and theme to Venus and Mars / Rockshow.
-
Spin It On and Arrow Through Me are great options too (not for a opener, but for a live version), he totally forgot this album.

audi:
I'll take it over "Magical Mystery Tour" ... again.
Do you REALLY think he would open with Nod Your Head instead of MMT? Really??

absolutly. There are some nice tunes from the "Egg" sessions which could be an enrichment for the setlist. Thinking further about "Getting Closer" and of course "So gald so see you here". "Rockrestra" could be a fine bridge between songs in encore block. "The Mess" is a futher interessting live song (only performed 1972/73) of course! Actually a full rearragment of the setlist with at least the half 'new' (newer/ or rarely performed songs) could be a real win-win strategy. If the value of the setlist is attractive (songs like Uncle Albert, The Mess, Take it away, or Ever present Past" included) I'm surely not the last one buying tickets for one or two shows more... Therefore I'm waiting till next week

I won't look at the setlist until I'll hear it on a show myself, I want to be surprised

that's surely a good decision; as long as your curiosity isn't growing too big and u attend on one or two shows only.

Always thought Spin It On- would be a great Macca opener...
