I was hoping for a The Girl is Mine video. Hard to believe that such a huge hit did not have a video on MTV at the time.

That muck started Paul McCartney's downfall. Seriously. Anyone who was a Paul fan was drinking it hard after that surfaced. And the nightmare grew... Say Say Say, Spies Like Us, Broadstreet, Once Upon a Long Ago... Many of us were ashamed... We recovered...but Paul's reputation never did. He is still recovering from those mistakes.

Actually I like all those songs you pooh-poohed, and the Broadstreet movie could have used a more original plot rather than the tired "MacGuffin" thing but it still boasted some fun parts. The "Ballroom Dancing" video, for example. Maybe Paul was more into being a fun pop star during that phase instead of concentrating on the heavy electric guitar riffs--would have been tiresome if he was all "hard rock" without variety , methinks, I don't want to hear only hard rock songs from him.

I shouldn't have used the word, "ashamed." A better word would be, "embarrassed."

"Once upon a long ago" a bad song!!!!!!a bad video!!!!!!!Heaven help me but these people like what from Paul!!!????For me that song is one of the songs that makes me like Paul´s work so much!A number 5 in Venezuela and a big radio hit there, the biggest solo song of macca in Italy(almost half a year in the charts there) a top 7 in Portugal, a top 7 in UK(New musical express) a top ten in holland,a top five in Belgium a hit in Germany too!well, only not chart in USA because Paul don´t put out the record there!I was never ever ever ashamed of Paul work!!!!!!!!I simply like ones and others don´t!I can see that release the Broad Street movie was a bad move,i can see that the album from the film is pointless,i can see the bad rap for Prees to play, and i can see that is sad that the last USA top ten was "Spies like us"(Even with all that, still better than Hope for the future!! ")and for me that´s it the low points from Macca in the 80´s all the rest all good things!

Spies Like Us is one of my guilty pleasures. Thought it was a little underwhelming at first, but it's grown on me through the years. Even with the "Oooh Ooh what do you do?" lyrics. I think I might have been charmed by the video... with Chevy, and all. Also the star of the You Can Call Me Al video, which still cracks me up.

I could not agree more. The new internet/phone text is one of my biggest pet peeves. We have sentences, punctuation and paragraphs for a reason. Typing on a phone is harder than on a computer, but it's not impossible. With practice, it should be easy. I see people practicing all day, every day. They should be expert phone typists by now. We didn't throw all the rules away when we went from pens and paper to keyboards. Why are we throwing them away now that we're going from keyboards to touch screens?

But that is what it means to have an opinion, Carlos. You say there are songs you don't like. Why is it ok for you not to like certain songs? Honestly, I like all the songs you listed that you don't like (for the most part!). But that's OK. It is OK to disagree about Paul and not like the same songs and albums.

Buddy, I would love to discuss with you, but please, post using paragraphs. I understand English is not your first language, but attempting to read your posts is giving me a blinding headache!

I LIKE most EVERYTHING to varying degrees EXCEPT... The Girl Is Mine, Ode to a Koala Bear, Pipes Of Peace album, Broadstreet album, Spies Like Us, most of Press To Play (except Stranglehold), Don't Be Careless Love, Once Upon a Long Ago...and more. But these are the ones I would classify as absolute rubbish.
