mr.flamingpie:
I hope we get nearly the same here in Vienna. If not that would be very very disappointing.
Vienna will be pretty close if it was like Springsteen you can stand on the railing right in front, then further back they have a wavebreaker to separate the golden circle. But not expecting a full house as they had some troubles with ticket sales.

So I was trying to read a review of Paul's Verona show in Italian , using Google translate: http://www.lastampa.it/2013/06/26/spettacoli/musica/larena-si-inchina-a-paul-mccartney-il-vecchietto-terribile-1ZCjdmXGibCT7tosSS33sO/pagina.html I can't tell if they liked the show or not. The headline calls him a "terrible old man" which doesn't sound like praise!!! But then the story keeps referring to his energy. And The Terrible Old Man is a famous short story about an old man who is stronger than people think. The headline translation is: The Arena bows to # Paul_McCartney, the old man terrible. In Verona, nearly three-hour concert without batting an eyelid But the review also seems a bit snotty. Can anyone read Italian and tell me if this is a positive or negative review??? It's really weirdly written. On Twitter of course, there were loads of positive comments calling the show fantastic.

Paul brought the sun on a cloudy night. The song list was similar to the others. Performance was super as usual; there can be some lacks in the voice or little mistakes with the instruments (Yesterday) but we love Him and we won't matter. Funny situation was that when he was to play Yesterday, Paul checked in his pocket for the guitar pick!!!!!!!! ? then he realized that he plays it with fingers!!!! shock My dream is that (if) I reach 71 I will be Like you, my old friend. I love you. Really hope to see you again. Arrivederci D D

Well this review is much more glowing: http://www.repubblica.it/spettacoli/musica/2013/06/26/news/mccartney_arena_verona-61859615/ The headline is: Paul McCartney at the Arena di Verona: a celebration of art and life Some quotes from the review: An audience that is literally exploded into a standing ovation when McCartney and the band took the stage, and then sang from start to finish. And he, Sir Paul, moved by so much enthusiasm, did not give a second, was not spared, has rewarded the efforts of those present with a concert really fantastic.

All considered, that's probably the best view of the stage, and the screens, that distance back. I'd take it!
I agree. I'd take those seats! I never said anything about health or safety. Not sure where that came from, meaning form the previous post.
It was MY observation on the huge gap not yours you know this being as forum an all its always nice to promote discussion. :

The extraordinary charisma of a fantastic artist, the formidable stage presence and the voice, that unique voice in the world....and then the magic that only he knows how to bring on the stage. Thanks Paul, once more, the nth one, has made us fly, dream and understand that the beautiful things never finish surprising: it was a magic evening. I saw 15 year-old little boys and girls sing shouting excited and involved by your supreme melodies, together to men and women of all the ages. You have stopped the time Sir Paul and you have given us, in a world of bleakness and wickedness, a night that we won't forget. Thanks, and as you said last night, to the next one. SEE YOU NEXT TIME

And.... I met them in their hotel after the gig in Verona. They were dining in a private room. Paul was there, but the security put a sreen when he came out so we could only glimpse him. But all the band and MjKim talked with us and made photos. Great after gig!

If someone has got an extra copy of the tour book sold in Verona, please send me a private message. I can either buy it or send my Brazilian tour book in exchange for it. Thanks in advance!

Back home and still reeling... Though it was unseasonably cool, windy and rainy, the seven hour journey to Verona was - as ever - so worth it. Amazing, incredible, unforgettable show and I am still on cloud nine about the seats I ended up with (with my mother, 1st generation fan). Cannot thank this fabulous band enough for a concert I will never, ever forget!

Still not home from the show yet...trying to sort out photos and videos....I filled my hard drive up!! Still on a high from the show What a great show and the best venue! Does anyone have photos and articles from the local newspaper? Someone took a photo of me while making my sign, it wasn't done yet.. But the writing was finished. I read a translated article and it was a very good review of Paul!! What was the setlist for the soundcheck, anyone? When and where did Paul arrive? So sorry we missed that!!! I have a photo of the full moon over the arena! Was able to go to Abbey Road before we left for Italy! Boycie drew a picture of Paul on the wall at Abbey Rd, he's quite good at it too! Sorry to 5th Beatle, if I had known, I would have gotten you a program...it was light blue, I'm not sure if it had stars on it? I'll have to check. I got lucky and someone came by selling them for 15 Euros! The amphitheater was so amazing!!! Verona was so beautiful!! Went to Venice the next day and that was amazing too!! Have so many videos to post, just trying to clear out my hard drive!! Heard Paul on the radio in the cab coming in from the airport and then back in London, heard My Soul in the souvineer shop near the National Gallery! Had Paul playing on the iPod for the train and plane rides..As we were driving across a bridge with the view of the Tower Bridge, Londontown came up on the iPod we were listening to!! Wow ...it's been an all Paull week!!! Nothing can compare to Paul in the ampitheater, that will always be my favourite gig from now on!!!

Thank you for mentioning it. I'll keep searching, maybe someone has an extra copy. In the meantime, here is a news report on the concert. Enjoy!

@love2travel GREAT gig in the Arena, the best location for music with a fantastic acoustic! I met the band in their hotel after the gig. They were dining in a private room and the security had put a screen close to the door so, when Paul and Nancy went out, we could only glimpse at them. I don?t know why they did that because we were only a few (about 15,18 middle-aged)) people there and everybody were sitting on the sofa quiet, well dressed and so on. Paul made a snub to us all ...but I breathed the same Paul?s air in the hall Then all the band went out and joined us talking and taking pics with us in the hall: they?re really kind! Wix told me that they couldn?t believe they?d played in such a wonderful place: the Arena is really magic and the audience was great! At the sound check my friends Alessio, Francesco and Andrea were called up on stage: Alessio had a large picture of the crossing in Abbey rd without the Beatles and on the top it was written ? TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES AND JOIN US?. So Paul called them up on stage, took off his shoes and took the pics with them. It was a topic moment! By the way Alessio 2 years ago in Bologna was called up on stage and Paul signed his WINGS jacket....lucky boy: he met Paul twice! Also for the gig we had prepared 200 little posters with a Paul?s photo dressed like a roman emperor and gave them to the first 3 rows in the Arena: wonderful effect! Here you can read and watch something about the gig:
