Paul's New Album-- "New"-- CONFIRMED
-
Any details on the New song? Who else is on it, if anyone? Who is playing, who is doing those great harmonies? Is it all Paul, or what?
-
Steve:
Sounds like "Got to get you into my Penny Lane"
-
I do wonder if the title of the album will cause some Abbot & Costello 'Who's On First?'-type moments
-
I don't know... ...THIRD BASE!

Actually, it's just a bunch of lines!
Well it means something in taoism....8 steps of it. I like it. I stand by that song to. I decide.
I like it too! But to me, it's just a bunch of lines that, when connected correctly, say "NEW."
-
Ah, the internet. Where people read too much into things
-
I also thought that the writing was alluding to NEW
-
Paul's phone interview with the radio station in Philly today...

Ah the internet where you can learn the first step of taoism is partly to understand you can be whatever you want. The philosophy of life. Who is to stop you. you can't stop me either. Has everything to do with the song. Its probably something he has learned. http://www.mydr2.com/taoist_pillars_8.html I don't see the big deal. Like I am sure he read about it.

Since I play with symbols, I was noticing that he is using the #1 Tao of Philosophy symbol 3 times. Paul and Nancy's anniversary is on 10/09 and they were married on 10/09/2011 which was a 111. So maybe this is an anniversary present in a way? New.

Woke up, and the song is still stuck in my head. Stayed up to catch those interviews he did on BBC. I did not like the whole | | | album art thing at first glance, but now it's grown on me as well. I do, however, like the new publicity image going around, too. Hope that gets incorporated into the new album.
-
It's a very catchy little pop song it's got quite an 80's feel to it a bit Pipes Of Peace with that skippy backing track . I like Paul's vocal he sounds happy
-
I'm just happy somethings coming
-
If you take six steps back and squint your eyes, the NEW CD cover clearly says, "Paul is taking a nap!"

He probably is. I DO love that photo above...he looks so handsome as usual.

Hopefully, 'New" will outsell 'Silly Love Songs". It should be a big hit in the States anyway.

I wouldn't expect much chart impact...regardless of how catchy it is and enjoyed amongst *most* fans. Paul just doesn't make that dent on the hot 100 charts here anymore... DRIVING RAIN -From a Lover to a Friend...didn't chart -Freedom...#97 CHAOS AND CREATION -Fine Line...didn't chart -Jenny Wren...didn't chart Memory Almost Full -Dance Tonight...#69 -Ever Present Past...didn't chart

Paul's singles have fared a little better over here in the UK over recent years, but only in the top thirty of the chart. Paul's last top 20 hit over here was Fine Line at number 20 in 2005 and Young Boy made 19 in 1997, but fans just don't buy his singles anymore. The weird thing for me is that 2013 is the year that marks 26 years since Paul had a UK top ten hit, that means his had more lean years now that hit years which seemed inconceivable all those years ago.

Just heard it!! I like it, Very catchy!! He is the King of Catchy Tunes! I am so excited for Paul's new album, I can't wait!!
-
That's an interesting viewpoint, Boycie!...he better fix that!
