Paul's New Album-- "New"-- CONFIRMED
-
John Mackintosh:
Remember the Early Days of New albums when we didn't deal with all of this? Wouldn't it have been nice if Paul would Save Us from all this trouble? Many would Appreciate that but then, again, perhaps not, as it does provide a way for Everybody Out There to talk on here and increase our anticipation. Still, at the end of it all, I am Scared that Secret Life of a Party Girl will only share her secrets in Japan. Oh well, it's time to hit the Road for now so Get Me Out of Here as maybe I should be On My Way to Work.

John, Good stuff! I'm still laughing.

But 'Get Me Out of Here' is TOO long, 6 minutes, so I guess you're rirght, hideen bonus track linked with that- Scared'. Now let's wait for 'Party Girl', WE KNOW IT'S REAL because Amazon UK had it listed two days ago.
You may be right about that: 6 minutes is a little long for a single McCartney track these days (non-Fireman), so it's anyone's guess right now, even about where "Scared" is hidden. For those of us in the U.S., we can always see what happens with the UK deluxe on the 14th before we buy on the 15th!
Just saw a review from a fan who was given a preview of the album, and he says "Scared" is definitely a hidden track on all versions, so I'm guessing that "Get Me Out Of Here" actually is 6 minutes long. We shall see.

Okay...now we need a new updated listing of which store will have which bonus track on it...again! Thanks

All subject to change, of course, and Target has not announced their version yet, but: Standard edition: Has the basic 12 tracks, plus hidden track: Scared Best Buy exclusive: Has the basic 12 tracks, plus the hidden track, plus photo cards and a badge Japanese edition: Has the basic 12 tracks, plus hidden track: Scared Plus 3 bonus tracks: Turned Out, Get Me Out Of Here, Struggle All other deluxe versions: the basic 12 tracks, plus hidden track: Scared Plus 2 bonus tracks: Turned Out, Get Me Out Of Here (iTunes may possibly not have Scared)

Thank you for your diligence in putting all this together. Assume Wal-Mart will be the best place to buy it and get the U.S. bonus tracks? Perhaps Secret Life of a Party Girl will be available as a download with the code included with the CD.

Interesting idea! I imagine there could be various special download options, and I wouldn't rule out a vinyl single of some kind (they put out a 12" of "Maybe I'm Amazed [live]" ahead of the WOA reissue). I'm not even going to speculate on the different possible color schemes of the cover art, by the way!

Why is that only his Japanese fans get 3 bonus tracks ?!

Why is that only his Japanese fans get 3 bonus tracks ?!
A delayed apology for bringing illegal drugs into their county?
-
iTunes deluxe edition has 14 tracks, with the last one listed as 6 mins 15 secs - which will be Get Me Out Of Here at 3 mins 09 a gap and then the 'hidden' track Scared at 2 mins 48. So All editions will feature the hidden track Scared. There are no credits for Scared as yet though, unless they are in the CD booklet.

Thanks! Another mystery solved.

The concept of a "hidden" track is stupid. It is a track. So, separate it! It really messed up "Anyway" on Chaos!

I do like the idea of a hidden tack - I just think it's out dated now..but back in the early nineties it was cool.. I still remember my big shock when I discovered Cosmically Conscious a long time after I had bought Off the Ground..

Yes, I wonder if Paul's initial impulse was to "hide" "Nod Your Head" at the end of "The End Of The End" (so to speak). Sometimes with hidden tracks, I'll go into my iTunes, duplicate the track, and then set the Options on the duplicate to just start playing when the hidden track starts, in case I just want to hear THAT song, and not the one before. But yes, it is a bit outdated now.

The reall reason is to do with the Japanese record company trying to stem imports of overseas copies of the album. This practice of 'giving the home fans' something extra has been going on for several decades now.

Hope you heard the full version of Cosmically Conscious as well, the one that was on the Off the Ground CD single. The one at the end of the album is only a fade in/fade out snippet of the entire song.

I agree that ghost-tracks are out-dated, but when it comes to Macca, I'll take all I can get. Nirvana's Nevermind was the first time I'd encountered a true ghost-track: And although I was impressed with the concept, the track, itself, was pointless. I liked what Tom Petty did on the CD-version of Full Moon Fever much better a couple years prior. And, for those who know what I'm talking about, it was very funny.
