London - casting call - Paul's "Queenie Eye" video
-
No wonder Paul's so fit. Imagine the trips up and down those stairs over the years. Especially when he's producing himself Forget the gym - just pop down Abbey Road to record an album. Martin

I'm so dissappointed by this video, its completely meaningless to me. Queenie Eye is so much more vibrant and colorful, and youthful, kids playing, dogs barking, feeling lost, excitement.. it all could have been captured so much better, more thought out, using the video medium to illustrate things and say something. this video does none of that for me. I think it honestly will turn younger rock fans off seeing that garbage, its turned me off and I like the song! It looks old.. a bunch of actors, many of them over 50/60 years of age, grooving to a song thats less groovy than it is rocking! maybe if they were all rocking out much harder nah that video is just BAD. I'll add, I know Pearl Jam is one band that doesn't believe in music videos, and they won't do them, because they feel videos rob the listener of having their own vision and experience of the songs. so it could be that Paul sort of feels that same way and doesn't want to present any visual representation other than just him playing and people dancing. could be.. but Queenie Eye is such a visual song for me. I mean I see youthful stuff like kids playing and playgrounds, energy, colors, and stuff I mentioned before. could have been a real cool peice of art that vid, IMO.
They could have easily included some kids playing the game. This is kinda like the DVDs his people put out. All the affidavitats by famous people about how great Paul is. We already know that. I think it's...ok.
Seriously Oobu! the kids game would be a no-brainer, just to flash that image in there at some point. I guess we all have our own vision of the song so its just my opinion, but cmon Paul, wtf is that!? congrats on having Meryl Streep stop by the studio... and Jude Law, get up and dance will you! Jude Law knows how to party harder than that.

Alice Eye is hot...didnt know she was English ..loved her in SHE'S OUT OF MY LEAGUE !!
-
Alice Eve was probably the most beautiful woman there (?). I'd never heard of her. No wonder Paul wanted her to lie on his piano, LOL
-
Uhhmm...well why exactly does she lie on Paul`s piano ? And what `s the point of this video except for a bid for the greatest waste of stars ever. I MEAN IT`S NOT EVEN TONGUE IN CHEEK ?!? Most of them look like they don`t know what to do with themselves (well thanx Merryl Streep for at least putting on a good show !) Sorry folks I love the song and I love the album but this doesn`t do anything for me. I was aware before watching this video that a lot of big shots admire Paul`s music just like we lesser mortals do. Maybe less stars and a good idea/director would have been better.
-
She's on the piano, like Michelle Pfieffer in "The Fabulous Baker Boys"...it's said the U.S.A. is a "celebrity culture." Maybe the U.K. is, too. A lot of countries. Maybe that's why the vid sports so many famous faces. It was thought that would add a great deal of interest. Maybe they should have got Kim Kardashian on there showing off her big behind

THANK YOU!! TOOK THE WORDS OUT OF MY MOUTH. I would have liked it just being Giles, Paul, the piano, and Abbey Road studio 2. A la 'Fine Line' I was hoping for Paul to be on each instrument and having continuous cuts back and forth. The actors in this video did NOTHING for me. If he is trying to gain more fans by having other people then his management team obviously don't get it. It's about the music and this video of A list actors detracted more than helped. I hope we get the Paul only cut version one day.......
-
Terrible video, doesn't fit the song at all.
-
There's no such thing as bad publicity - and it's got us all talking.... Job Done Martin
-
Hell....I like the 'Making Of' better..

what is fun about it? Paul knows alotta people? ( wonders if Paul will have an alternate> ops: )
Well, fun for celebrity spotting, at least! And I think it gains energy when that guy James Corden starts getting excited after the quiet part. (Johnny Depp does bring the energy level down, though. "Yeah, Paul and I are friends, I don't have to get excited.")
what that would have been hilarious.. them actors actually being hit with a ball.... just seems to serious.. can you imagine Meryl Streep being hit in the head with a red ball? kinda like Dodge Ball... the face from smiling to shock?
You do have to wonder: didn't anyone think to bring a ball?? "I thought YOU were going to, so I didn't." Although, yeah, maybe they were worried about getting hit!
-
Should have been naked Girls swinging on a Wrecking Ball!! that I WOULD WATCH

Sorry folks. I totally disagree. It's not a playful, happy song. It's a dark song with a langorous (sp?) beat. And humiliating celebrities is pretty much the exact opposite point of the song. The song is not about a children's game. That's just the metaphor he's using to make a comment on celebrities just being people, too. I LOVE the video. It's an understated message and I fully expect that the morons at the Daily Mail will hate everything about the video because those people spend their days eviscerating celebrities for stupid reasons. Great song, great video.

Think I've sorted out the wild - Kate Bushesque - dancer. But I took a lead from the newspaper article so I'm not posting yet. if so she's a dancer but not that type.... Martin

Very interesting! Something to think about.

I've gotta say, Paulie could butch up his mannerisms a bit. He seems to prance about a bit much at the start and end of the video. He's almost Elton-esque.
