Where's Paul been lately?

Oh well, that's another contribution by Paul to global warming.
I know, right? He sure flies around a lot!
Doesn't he fly commercial (first class of course) from London to NYC and vice versa? The plane was flying anyway. It's not like it made a special trip just for him!

Paul prepares to unwind for the festive period as he and Nancy Shevell arrive at JFK airport ahead of Christmas

I know, and its because every passenger has that attitude (the jet isn't flying just for them), we have air travel and the accompanying pollution. Perhaps Paul will follow the example of Coldplay?

What does Coldplay do? I agree with everything else you said though Kestrel.

I think the photo of Paul and Nancy arriving at JFK airport is of them arriving to take a flight to London. He has been in New York the past week (see previous post of he and Nancy with Lauren Bush a few days ago.) From what we've been able to observe before, he usually spends Christmas Day in London with his children and grandchildren. The Daily Mail doesn't always get things correct. (Misidentifying daughter Mary as wife Nancy in photos, for instance, and other inaccuracies.)

It's not the passengers' fault - criticize the airlines for having so many flights! Paul wil not stop touring until he is physically unable to - you know that!

I never said which way he was going. And it doesn't really matter since soon he will be off to St Barts.

They toured a lot or at least they did. They are now stopping touring because of concern over what damage they are doing to the environment.

Its the chicken and egg scenario. The airlines wouldn't have so many flights if the demand wasn't there, a demand created by people like Paul, who knowingly damages the environment on one hand and then goes on about protecting the environment with the other. Its the hypocrisy I don't like but you're right,he'll just go on touring until he can't do it anymore. Or when its no longer economical.

So they are "uncoupling" from touring. LOL! (like his marriage)

Yeah, you're right - the demand is there. I remember the first two times I flew from Cleveland, OH to Los Angeles, CA in 1971 and 1973. The planes were half empty! I had nobody sitting next to me! (2 out of 3 empty seats) Now I fly somewhere about once or twice a year and only once was there an empty seat between me and another woman - thank God, because she was huge!

Isn't their lead singer (Chris Martin) a mate of Stella's? If so, she might be having a word in her Dad's ear.

Sorry Oobu, I should have quoted the original poster who posted the photo of them at the airport, my comment wasn't directed just to you. Was just a general comment to everyone.

You should have quoted the johnnymain post where he included the Daily Mail article - they were the ones who got their info wrong, as usual!

Just an FYI, Virgin Atlantic has a notice in their front pocket magazine, that you can pay off your carbon footprint for your flight, by sending in a carbon fee, which is then used to plant trees or some other suitable repair. One reason I like to support their airline. They also collect loose change and use that money to help children around the world.

An airline with a guilty conscience! Whatever next?
That just smacks of a driver deliberately running someone over in their car, and then taking them to hospital to recover. The best way to offset an individuals carbon footprint is not to create that footprint in the first instance. We all contribute to global warming of course (even the cows do !! ) but in Paul's case, he sets a bad example by contributing far more than he actually needs to do. He doesn't have to tour the world, he can just tour the UK and in vehicles that are more eco-friendly.

We are flying Virgin Atlantic to England next August! I checked out that link and discovered I'm already doing a lot of those things!

Sorry but people need to get a grip about flying, it is a necessity in the world we live in. For example in the US, how do you recommend the two US Senators from Hawaii get back to their home from Washington DC -lol. Want to do some good for the earth. Find a way to boycott China and or India which are the world leaders of pollution in the world.
